We join Christian Filipinos in observing Black Saturday which commemorates the burial of Jesus Christ.

Today is an Additional Special (Non-Working) Day by virtue of Proclamation No. 1006 signed on 3 September 2025.

Our Central Office in Manila and History Museums throughout the country are closed. Regular operations of museums resume on Easter Sunday, 5 April 2026 except for those undergoing maintenance works.

This day has been codified as a public holiday since 1 February 1902 through Act No. 345 by the Philippine Commission. Its status has been retained by the Administrative Code of 1987 (Executive Order No. 292, 25 July 1987).

Our Central Office in Manila and History Museums throughout the country are closed. Regular operations of museums resume on Easter Sunday, 5 April 2026 except for those undergoing maintenance works.

Built in 1822, it was declared as a national historical landmark in 2003. After a devastating earthquake in 2013, it was restored by the NHCP and reopened to the public on 15 October 2018.

In line with Memorandum Circular No. 116, s. 2026, the NHCP Central Office in Manila and its Shrines & Museums across the country will 𝗰𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟮:𝟬𝟬 𝗽.𝗺. 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟭 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆).

The NHCP Central Office will also adopt 𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑘-𝐹𝑟𝑜𝑚-𝐻𝑜𝑚𝑒 arrangements from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Regular operations will resume in accordance with previously issued advisories on our Holy Week Schedule.

It was a pleasure to host the officials from the Municipality of Claver, Surigao del Norte, during their visit to Museo El Depósito. The delegation was warmly welcomed by San Juan City Tourism Officer, Mr. Brian Geli, on behalf of the City Government of San Juan.

The guests then embarked on an immersive journey through the historic underground reservoir of El Depósito and the hallowed grounds of the Pinaglabanan Memorial Shrine.

We had the distinct pleasure of welcoming Professor Greg Bankoff, Ph.D. and his colleagues from the Ateneo De Manila University to Museo El Deposito.

Professor Bankoff is a Research Fellow at the Department of History, Ateneo de Manila University and Professor Emeritus of Environmental History at the University of Hull.

It was a privilege to welcome the Joint Specialization School, Education and Training Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to Museo El Deposito.

As part of their ongoing professional development, the Civilian Human Resource Basic Course Class 79 and 82-2026 conducted a site visit to our historic underground reservoir and the Pinaglabanan Memorial Shrine. Understanding our past is fundamental to serving our nation's future, and we are proud to be part of their journey in the AFP.
