Keep your Liit makulit! ⚡ 'Wag i-omit ang mga bulilit sa pag-beat 👊 ng heat 🔥 sa hagupit ng tag-init. ☀️ Your pets 🐶 and the urban wildlife 🦎 also need ways to cool down in the approaching Philippine summer heat. 🌡️
Here are some ways you can help!

1. Always leave water in bowls under shade. Regularly change water in bowls.
2. Keep your pets' sleeping area well-ventilated. Setting up fans or cooling appliances can also help.
3. Avoid walking pets during the peak hours of 10 AM to 4 PM.
4. Watch out for signs of heatstroke, like excessive panting, drooling, weakness. If you see these signs, gradually cool your pet and contact a vet.
5. In case of fire, dont leave your pets behind! They're family too!
6. Leave water bowls on the ground outside for reptiles and amphibians.
7. Minimize pruning trees and shrubs to leave shade.
8. Prepare bird baths for city birds!

Who is this diva⁉️

Hey! You! Yes, you! 🫵 Isn’t there a 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒈 🐸 in your life you forgot to appreciate today? 🤨

Frogs aren’t just cute—they’re also essential! 👀 They have a pretty good spot in our ecosystems as they act as both 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒚 (Watts, 2024; Wickramasingha, 2026). Talk about duality, am I right?

Frogs can be found all over the world 🌏 (*cough* Mr. Worldwide *cough*)! So… not only have they 𝒂𝒅𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒅 to different environments, but because of this level of exposure, they’ve also inspired people to make music, art, and even adopt them into their cultures! (Wickramasingha, 2026) 🎨🎵🫂

Unfortunately, 41% of global frog populations are 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒅 today 🥹 The loss of frogs can mean a domino effect, leading to devastating ecological consequences around the world (Wickramasingha, 2026). Still, in the Philippines, there remains either outdated data or lack of data on frog species populations, underscoring the need for more surveys and field work (Sanguila et al., 2016).

So before you get to bed and snooze the night away, make sure to thank a frog today!
