NEW EXHIBITION ALERT! ๐ฃ
"Sinulid at Hibla: Threaded Traditions of Philippine Textiles," opens today at the 4F galleries!
Textiles serve as a languageโa form of visual communication through which personal and communal identity is asserted and shared.
Across the Philippine archipelago, the specific geometry of a weave, the thickness of the threads, or the arrangement of beadwork acts as a distinct signature, marking a communityโs lineage, geography, and sacred boundaries.
Yet, if we peer beyond the silhouette of these differences, a more profound narrative of connection begins to surface. "Sinulid at Hibla" (Thread and Fiber) invites us to look beneath the immediate surface differentiation to uncover a shared technical and material vocabulary that defines Filipino cultures.
Come trace these connections yourself at our 4F galleries.
