GORLS GORLS GORLS by Ja Amores
at BenCab Museum's Gallery Indigo
8 August to 26 September 2026

Being a girl is a little bit chaos, a little bit magic.
Ja Amores’ first solo exhibition Gorls Gorls Gorls paints the exhilarating, messy, and deeply personal journey from girlhood to womanhood. Through her signature wind-swept figures, she captures emotions that half of the population go through: girlhood rage, quiet vulnerability, nostalgia, sprinkled with humor and the courage to keep becoming.
Rooted in her experiences as an emerging illustrator from Baguio navigating the art world, Amores' works celebrate women who carve their own paths, embracing uncertainty with tenderness, resilience, and heart.

CAT TALES by Jonathan Ching
at BenCab Museum's Gallery Indigo

Cat Tales tells the story of the artist as a cat lover, reimagining his private space, with his cats as his anchor.

As with his previous works—where everyday objects like chairs, tables, roadside grottos, withered cut flowers on a tablecloth, and altar offerings served as his subject matter, Ching once again urges us to pause, look back, and pay attention. This time, however, he asks us to heed the quiet calls of the living beings that share our space. For Ching, those beings are his beloved rescue cats, and he offers them the same rapt attention and utmost devotion that felines have given their humans throughout our shared history dating back thousands of years.

LIFE OF RIZAL Prints by BenCab
at BenCab Museum's Sepia Gallery
13 June to 26 July 2026
(The prints are for exhibition only and are not for sale)

On the occasion of Jose Rizal’s 165th birth anniversary, this exhibition pays homage to the national hero of the Philippines whose life and legacy continue to inspire hope, courage, and patriotism.

The prints are reproductions of original drawings by National Artist BenCab which were commissioned to illustrate the book INDIO BRAVO: The Life of Jose Rizal authored by Asunción López Bantug, Rizal’s grandniece.

The captions that accompany the visual narrative were written by Ambeth R. Ocampo, Filipino public historian, academic, journalist, and author, best known for his definitive writings about Jose Rizal.
