Coming up this October 2026, The Negros Museum will feature a new exhibition, "Sakada" 7th solo exhibition of renowned Negrense visual artist and educator Mr. Antonio Tejado.

Tejado's current oil on canvas collection, the suite he will exhibit at The Negros Museum about the sakadas (seasonal/migrant sugarcane plantation workers of Negros), does seem to be a synthesis, a fusion, of the art styles he dabbled in and allowed himself to be influenced by through the years. His academism shows in the manner he limned his focal figures and his modernist leanings in the pared pastel-hued geometric planes that are the background of these works.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us for the opening of "Diri sa Amon sang Una kag Subong," a group exhibition held on September 25 at The Negros Museum, Bacolod City.

The exhibition brought together artists who reflect on identity, memory, and change, tracing the journey from where we once were to where we are today. We thank our participating artists, partners, guests, and supporters for making this showcase possible.

Maraming salamat to all who took the time to engage with the works and share in this conversation.
