For who does not know the woman behind the pots: this is me, Liselore. Lilo used to be one of my first nicknames by my cousin who could not pronounce my name. While it was a battle during my exchange year in de USA to have my name pronounced correctly, it felt wise to choose an easier version for my ceramic studio. Although I started making my uique pieces under my own name again, a few years ago. Lilo Ceramics is now the brand name for my tableware.
I live and work in Haarlem. I am not originally from here but I have been living here since 2004 and never want to leave this amazing city anymore. It has a beautiful medieval city center, the river Spaarne, it is close to the beach, the tulip fields and Amsterdam. And I have never been happier somewhere else. I find my inspiration in the beautiful nature around Haarlem. The dunes, the sea, the lakes, the river, the famous sky.... During walks with my husband and dog I always discover new colours and textures I can use in my ceramics.
