Summer is here! Time to take things slow. And Make Eindhoven is also taking a break. We will be closed from 18 July and we will re-open our doors on Monday 24 August. We’d love to see you again from then on, of course. Enjoy your summer! ⁠

OPEN CALL | Following an open call, we selected 3 makers who wanted to further develop their practice in graphic techniques. Noa Mac Donald, Sean Fisher and Jan van den Dobbelsteen were selected for a 60-day work period, which is now coming to a close. ⁠

Noa has been focused on creating short animations made from lithographic prints. Sean’s project showcased a dialogue of Make’s tools and techniques, researching and experimenting with both the etching press and CNC milling in the CAD/CAM lab. Meanwhile, Jan explored the options of working with used ink cartridges and leftover paper.⁠

OPEN CALL | Eerder selecteerden we uit een open call 3 makers die zich verder willen ontwikkelen in grafische technieken. Noa Mac Donald, Sean Fisher and Jan van den Dobbelsteen startten hun werkperiode van 60 dagen, die nu ten einde loopt.⁠
⁠
Noa richtte zich op het maken van korte animaties met lithografische prenten. Sean's project zocht de dialoog met de gereedschappen en technieken van Make. Hij experimenteerde met zowel de etspers als CNC-frezen in het CAD/CAM-lab. Ondertussen onderzocht Jan de mogelijkheden van het werken met gebruikte inktcartridges en restpapier. ⁠

RESIDENT | Welcome, Ali Eslami! Our new Mondriaan Fonds resident kicked of his residency this week. The Dutch-Iranian artist has worked primarily in the digital domain in recent years. At Make, Ali will explore how digitally generated objects can function as sculptural elements within installations in the physical world. ⁠

RESIDENT | Welkom, Ali Eslami! Onze nieuwe Mondriaan Fonds-resident startte zijn werkperiode deze week. De Nederlands-Iraanse kunstenaar werkte de afgelopen jaren voornamelijk in het digitale domein. Bij Make wil Ali onderzoeken hoe digitaal gegenereerde objecten in de fysieke wereld als sculpturale elementen in installaties kunnen dienen. ⁠
