A garden in electric colors.

Patrick Burns ’ Concrete Garden series pairs vivid colors with delicate botanical forms. Across textured surfaces, stems and flower heads create a quiet rhythm beneath the intensity of blue and pink.

Some exhibitions stay with you long after you leave.

Silence Before Sound at the Tampa Museum of Art brought together nearly fifty works spanning six decades of Jun Kaneko’s extraordinary practice. Monumental ceramics, paintings and drawings revealed an artist working between sculpture and surface, precision and intuition, stillness and movement.

The title refers to the Japanese concept of Ma: the pause, space or silence between gestures. In Kaneko’s work, that space is never empty. It is where balance, rhythm and tension begin.

A remarkable survey of an artist who continues to push clay far beyond its expected boundaries, and one of the cultural highlights of the year in Florida.

Artist at work

Inside Selwyn Senatori’s studio, bold black lines take shape across the canvas, confident, instinctive and unmistakably his. This black-and-white series captures the contemporary artist at work in his studio in Amsterdam. Revealing the movement, focus and energy behind each painting.

There is something extraordinary about seeing these works together again.

Created between 1996 and 1998, Desirée Dolron’s Gaze series feels as arresting today as it did nearly three decades ago. Photographed underwater, the figures appear suspended between movement and stillness, breath and silence, the physical and something beyond.

Works from Gaze are rarely encountered together in this capacity, making this grouping a unique opportunity to experience one of Dolron’s most haunting early series as a whole.

A quiet, almost otherworldly chapter in the work of one of the Netherlands’ most distinctive photographers.

Some works ask to be watched. Others ask to be experienced.

Kiss the Day Goodbye by Charles Atlas transforms moving image into atmosphere, where light, sound and rhythm become part of the space around you. A reminder that video art doesn’t simply document a moment; it creates one.
