As we continue celebrating 10th anniversary of Brooke Museums, we’re taking a little detour from the galleries to explore a story that may be familiar to many of us — coffee. 🌿☕
Happy International Coffee Day!
Did you know that coffee has been part of Sarawak’s story for more than a century?
From early coffee-growing experiments at Mount Matang during the Brooke era, to the continued appreciation of Sarawak Liberica, coffee has its own fascinating place in our heritage.
As part of our journey of discovering and sharing Sarawak’s stories, Brooke Museums once collaborated with to create Brooke Blend — a special blend bringing together Arabica, Canephora and Sarawak-sourced Liberica.
More than just a cup of coffee, Brooke Blend was a way of connecting history, local coffee culture and contemporary creativity.
As we celebrate this milestone, we look back at collaborations like Brooke Blend as part of the many ways we have brought heritage beyond the museum walls over the years.
Because sometimes, heritage can be found in the most unexpected places —
even in a cup of coffee. ☕✨
