Nel frattempo, i Xemei gondolieri e i ballerini Ferruccio & Jaki vi aspettano in tutta la loro energia e splendore nella mia galleria Le Zoie di campo San Polo.

Tutto nasce nel 2023, dalla richiesta di realizzare un'opera in vetro di Murano.
Da lì l'intuizione di ispirarsi al futurismo, creando snodi che le donassero movimento.

Dopo l'esperienza in Francia e diverse kermesse, è nato il desiderio di trasporre nel vetro la storia di alcune figure che hanno fatto parte della mia vita:
i Xemei gondolieri, i ballerini Ferruccio e Jaki.

E ora manca poco all’inaugurazione di domani!

It all began in 2023, with a commission to create a Murano glass artwork.
From there I had the idea of drawing inspiration from Futurism, creating joints that would give the pieces a sense of movement.

After my experience in France and various exhibitions, I felt the desire to capture in glass the stories of some of the people who have been part of my life: the twin gondoliers, and the dancers Ferruccio and Jaki.

Can’t wait for the opening tomorrow!

Chi sono i ‘Xemei’?

I Xemei - "gemelli" nel dialetto veneziano – sono Renato "Manteina" e Lino "Meo", due gondolieri divenuti personaggi leggendari nella Venezia degli anni Ottanta, protagonisti della Venezia più autentica, irriverente e imprevedibile. Due vite avventurose e dei racconti incredibili che ancora oggi appartengono all'immaginario della città.

Venerdì 24 luglio proprio i Xemei saranno ospiti ‘ in carne e ossa’ all’opening della nuova collezione di opere cinetiche NEW FUTURIST VENETIAN GLASS del designer - in collaborazione con la Vetreria Nicola Moretti.

Who are the ‘Xemei’?

The Xemei – meaning ‘twins’ in the Venetian dialect – are Renato ‘Manteina’ and Lino ‘Meo’, two gondoliers who became legendary figures in 1980s Venice, embodying the city’s most authentic, irreverent and unpredictable side. Two adventurous lives and incredible tales that still are part of the city’s collective imagination today.

On Friday 24 July, the ‘Xemei’ themselves will be special guests at the opening of the new collection of kinetic works, NEW FUTURIST VENETIAN GLASS, by designer – in collaboration with Vetreria Nicola Moretti.

È un dialogo tra l'antica maestria muranese e la ricerca estetica contemporanea ispirata al dinamismo del Futurismo e alla poesia senza tempo della città di Venezia.

Inspired by people and real-life experiences from the designer’s own life, these works—created in collaboration with Vetreria Nicola Moretti—invite the public to interact: a simple gesture alters their posture, transforming the glass into a narrative, a theatrical performance and life itself, deeply rooted in the Venetian spirit.

It is a dialogue between the ancient craftsmanship of Murano and contemporary aesthetic exploration, inspired by the dynamism of Futurism and the timeless poetry of Venice.
