This year marks two decades since the opening of the V&A opened the Jameel Gallery of Islamic Art, designed by Softroom. The gallery combined contemporary exhibition design, bespoke cases, lighting, and multimedia resources to help visitors engage more deeply with one of the world’s most significant collections of Islamic art.

At its center is the Ardabil Carpet, one of the largest carpets in the world, in a glass enclosure engineered, produced, and installed by Goppion. The enclosure measures 7 by 11 meters and stands 3 meters high. Telescopic screws concealed beneath the floor lift the entire glass volume at once, giving operators direct access to the carpet. Freestanding and wall cases throughout the gallery hold large rugs, tile compositions, and drawings.

Five years ago, the Polonsky Exhibition of The New York Public Library’s Treasures opened. The Library’s first permanent exhibition of its treasures includes a unique copy of the Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson himself and a handwritten copy of the Bill of Rights.

Designed by Pure+Applied, the exhibition includes 21 conservation-grade display cases engineered, produced, and installed by Goppion, among them four large wall cases.

Last week, the launched "Alive in Many Hands," a new exhibition showing how living traditions carry memory, identity and community across generations.

Goppion fabricated, delivered, and installed the museum-quality exhibition displays and graphics for the exhibition, continuing an ongoing working relationship with the Library of Congress. Read more on our website here: https://lnkd.in/eTJ56eAA

Florence's historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for containing "the greatest concentration of universally renowned works of art in the world." This week, the city hosts the 36th Annual Conference of IAMFA, the International Association of Museum Facility Administrators. Goppion is taking an active role, sponsoring the event and presenting on our work protecting and displaying one of the city's most significant collections.

As we prepare for the 21st ICOM-CC Triennial Conference in Oslo next week, a look back at one of the projects that brought us to this city.

Goppion custom-made 280 display cases across 80 types and sizes for the , the largest art museum in the Nordic region, housing a collection that ranges from medieval tapestries to the works of Edvard Munch. Among the highlights a completely invisible conservation frame built for The Scream, which entirely encloses the canvas within a controlled microclimate, combining maximum security and maximum transparency.

See us at the conference from September 14 to 18, including at our booth and poster session on the conservation of the Oseberg sleds at the nearby Museum of the Viking Age .

The Museum of Art at in Milan marks four years since its opening in 2022. Goppion engineered the display cases for the Etruscan collection, working closely with through a Design Assist process. The cases were conceived to bring visitors into close proximity with the objects while maintaining the conservation conditions the collection requires. Among the elements Goppion produced is a metal plinth supporting the Luna marble cippus, a funerary monument whose quiet drama is central to the installation.

Fondazione Luigi Rovati and Mario Cucinella Architects were the Compasso d'Oro in 2024 for the exhibition design of the project.

In 2019, after four years of restoration, Raphael's life-size preparatory drawing for the School of Athens was back on display at the . The work is now preserved inside a custom Goppion case with a single glass door measuring 8 by 3 meters, the largest single-door case Goppion has ever made, installed through an opening made in the wall. To realize the case envisioned by while meeting the highest conservation standards, we worked closely with the engineering department of the Università degli Studi di Pavia.

Today is International Dog Day, and we'd be remiss not to introduce Spritz, a much-loved presence at Goppion HQ in Milan. While the rest of the team focuses on conservation-grade display cases and exhibition fabrication, Spritz focuses on morale. He is very good at his job.

The Lokar Collection at the Sartorio Museum in Trieste brings together more than 550 pieces of 18th-century European porcelain from over 80 manufacturers, making it one of the most complete collections of its kind in the world. Goppion returned to this elegant neoclassical villa, having first worked here in 1998, to provide 14 display cases including two bespoke freestanding models, all with advanced airtightness.

The installation required particular ingenuity: fully assembled cases delivered to the second floor of a historic villa through a very small window.
