iSculpture (San Gimignano) was established in 2012 by Francesca Cundari and Patrick Pii, with the aim to promote both young and successful Italian sculptors. Our attention is mostly focused on the research of the new borders of the Italian figurative arts.Updated in taste and in the concept of "beauty", sculpture is perhaps the most complete art kind, in which matter and shape come together in a

continuous challenge to renewal, without ever leaving a constant acquisition of consolidated parameters relating to balance and know-how.The works of our selected artists represent a significant example of contemporary Italian sculptures in the field of ceramics, bronze, alabaster, wood, marble and iron.Tradition and modernity merge together in the 14th century architecture and the renovation works, facilitating a timeless dialogue between the art works and the spectator.Its first location in San Gimignano, is today joined by a further exhbiting space in Casole d'Elsa (SI), at the border between the provinces of Siena and Pisa, crossed by international cultural and artistic fervors since many years ago.

Dieci opere.
Lo stesso soggetto.
La stessa immagine.
Almeno, apparentemente.

Perché basta avvicinarsi per scoprire che qualcosa cambia: un colore, una materia, un dettaglio, una presenza.
L'idea di una realtà assolutamente identica a se stessa si scontra con una domanda che la fisica moderna ha reso ancora più affascinante: se cambiano lo spazio e il tempo, possiamo davvero parlare della stessa cosa?

Virgilio Rospigliosi raccoglie questa sfida e la porta nella pittura.
Ripete la stessa immagine dieci volte, rigorosamente a mano. Ma ogni gesto appartiene a un momento diverso. E ogni momento lascia inevitabilmente una traccia.
Ciò che sembra identico non lo è mai.

Dieci opere ci inviteranno a guardare oltre la prima impressione.

Ten artworks.
The same subject.
The same image.
At least, apparently.

Because all it takes is getting closer to discover that something changes: a colour, a texture, a detail, a presence.
The idea of a reality that is absolutely identical to itself encounters a question that modern physics has made even more fascinating: if space and time change, can we really speak of the same thing?

Virgilio Rospigliosi takes up this challenge and brings it into painting. He repeats the same image ten times, rigorously by hand. But each gesture belongs to a different moment. And every moment inevitably leaves its trace.
What appears identical never truly is.

Ten artworks will invite us to look beyond first impressions.

𝙏𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙖 — 𝙉𝙞𝙢𝙧𝙤𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙜 — has found its home in Castelfalfi, welcoming visitors at the entrance of a beautiful house immersed in nature.

A work in which a material, seemingly strong and rigid, transforms into gentleness. The metal opens up, making room for light and becoming a delicate, almost suspended presence.

Around it, the butterflies create a silent dialogue with the surroundings: nature and human wonder meet, both inside and outside the home.

Because even a material like metal can tell a story of lightness.

𝑨 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆, 𝒂 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆, 𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈.

We had the pleasure of presenting the new catalogue dedicated to Stefano Bombardieri at Mormoraia, our valued partner.

The catalogue documents SOSPESI, the exhibition curated by Anna Lisa Ghirardi, held at isculpture Art Gallery from 29 May to 12 June 2026, and presented in the squares of San Gimignano on the occasion of Regina Ribelle 2026.

Published by Maledizioni, the catalogue brings together the works and reflections of a project made possible thanks to the Consorzio della Vernaccia di San Gimignano, with the patronage of the Municipality of San Gimignano.

For the occasion, Mormoraia welcomed five bronze sculptures, Struzzo Rubik, Elia e l’elefante, Sumo, Il peso del tempo sospeso – Hippo and Il peso del tempo sospeso – Hippo Rino, creating a setting that brings together different subjects and expressions of Bombardieri’s artistic research.

Above all, it was an opportunity to meet and connect: with guests, with the owners, and with everyone who chose to share this special moment with us.

Because we believe that art does not live only within exhibition spaces. It also comes to life in places that know how to welcome it, and in the relationships it creates.

We are deeply grateful to Mormoraia for its generous hospitality, trust and support for our project.

Quando un’opera si ripete, è davvero la stessa opera?

È una delle domande che attraversano la ricerca di Virgilio Rospigliosi

La ripetizione non è mai una semplice replica.
Ogni nuova opera nasce da qualcosa che esiste già, ne conserva la memoria, ne porta con sé il peso del tempo e, allo stesso tempo, se ne distacca.

Ogni ripetizione porta con sé il peso temporale di quella precedente, ma ogni opera rimane una singolarità assoluta.

È qui che la riflessione dell’artista diventa particolarmente interessante: ciò che apparentemente si ripete non è mai identico, perché nel frattempo è cambiato il tempo, è cambiato lo sguardo, è cambiato il contesto.

La forma può tornare, ma l’opera è sempre un nuovo presente.

Rospigliosi costruisce così un dialogo sottile tra identità e differenza, permanenza e trasformazione, memoria e presente.

È in questo spazio tra la forma e il pensiero che la sua scultura trova la propria forza.

Una mostra da guardare lentamente.
E, forse, da riguardare.

When an artwork is repeated, is it really the same artwork?

It is one of the questions that runs through the artistic research of Virgilio Rospigliosi.

The repetition is never a simple replica.
Each new work originates from something that already exists, preserving its memory, carrying with it the weight of time and, at the same time, moving away from it.

Every repetition carries the temporal weight of the one that came before, yet every artwork remains an absolute singularity.

This is where the artist’s reflection becomes particularly intriguing: what apparently repeats is never identical, because in the meantime, time has changed, the gaze has changed, the context has changed.

The form may return, but the artwork is always a new present.

Rospigliosi thus creates a subtle dialogue between identity and difference, permanence and transformation, memory and the present.

It is in this space between form and thought that his sculpture finds its strength.

An exhibition to look at slowly.
And, perhaps, to look at again.

Until August 22, Gerald Moroder’s works will continue to take centre stage at isculpture Art Gallery.

A project born from the artist’s research into the relationship between matter, territory and time, where earth, wood, sand, minerals, porphyry, granite and natural pigments become living matter, capable of preserving the memory of the places from which they originate.

This is the fifth exhibition we have created together with Gerald, a journey that has connected us for many years and has, over time, become something even more precious: a profound artistic collaboration and a fraternal friendship.

𝑬𝒙 𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒂 also continues at Tenuta Brancaia, where Moroder’s research engages with the landscape through four site-specific interventions dedicated to the 𝟒 𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒔.

Young minds possess a remarkable gift: they haven't yet learned to say, "I don't understand contemporary art."
Instead, they observe.

Their curiosity is instinctive and unfiltered. They give artworks something increasingly rare: time and undivided attention. And perhaps that is the most beautiful way to experience art.

At isculpture Art Gallery, witnessing these moments is always a privilege. They remind us that contemporary art has no age when it is capable of inspiring wonder, emotion, and questions.

The future of contemporary art belongs not only to artists, curators and collectors.

𝑨𝑹𝑻𝑾𝑶𝑹𝑲𝑺 𝑰𝑵 𝑮𝑨𝑳𝑳𝑬𝑹𝒀- 𝑩𝑳𝑼𝑬 𝑯𝑶𝑳𝑬 " 𝑨𝑳𝑳𝑨 𝑵𝑶𝑻𝑻𝑬"

Every work by Massimo Levati is born from a delicate balance: allowing matter to preserve its own energy while never letting it escape control.

Blue Hole "Alla Notte" is the result of a gesture repeated thousands of times, where every single intervention is guided by absolute precision. Paper is engraved, shaped, and transformed until it becomes a vibrant surface, capable of holding movement without ever allowing it to erupt.

The monochrome blue removes every distraction, focusing the viewer entirely on the material itself. Concentric circles create a rigorous structure, yet beneath their apparent order a silent, restrained energy continues to pulse. It is precisely within this tension between order and unpredictability that Levati's artistic research reveals itself.

His practice engages with the language of Minimal Art while distinguishing itself through an entirely handcrafted process, slow, meticulous, and deeply intentional. From a distance, the work appears essential; up close, it unveils a landscape of reliefs and subtle variations that transform paper into a profoundly tactile presence, hovering at the threshold of sculpture.

A work that does not impose itself upon the viewer but gradually reveals its complexity, uncovering the extraordinary richness concealed within an apparent simplicity.
