In the heart of the Apuan Alps, where Carrara marble is born as both material and myth, contemporary sculpture continues to find one of its most powerful expressions. It is here that Filippo Tincolini works, transforming one of the oldest stones in art history into a radically contemporary visual language.

Among his most significant bodies of work is 𝑵𝒐𝒗𝒂 𝑰𝒅𝒐𝒍𝒂, a series that reimagines the idea of the divine through a contemporary lens. Figures that recall ancient deities and archaeological fragments seem to resurface through time, yet their surfaces are marked by unexpected signs of the present: logos, symbols, and references to consumer culture.

In works such as Torso Vuittonis and Vestigium Corporis, the dialogue between antiquity and contemporaneity becomes even more evident, as if the past were constantly re-emerging through the codes of the present.

𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒐 𝑻𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒊 ’s sculptures do not simply ask to be observed, but to be interpreted, as traces of a future rooted in the past, taking shape through matter itself.

A Carrara il processo artistico non resta mai nascosto: diventa paesaggio, attraversa gli spazi e si svela mentre ancora prende forma.

In occasione di Studi Aperti Carrara, abbiamo avuto il piacere di entrare in contatto con una realtà viva e profondamente dinamica, dove la pratica artistica rimane aperta, tangibile e in continua trasformazione.

Le immagini che condividiamo offrono solo un breve estratto di quanto abbiamo visto, una selezione di opere in lavorazione di alcuni artisti del collettivo del progetto Ponte di Ferro.

L’esperienza si inserisce nel più ampio programma promosso da Carrara UNESCO, che valorizza il dialogo tra città, territorio e produzione artistica contemporanea, aprendo al pubblico spazi normalmente dedicati esclusivamente alla creazione.

Ne emerge il ritratto di una Carrara autentica, dove la materia diventa linguaggio e il confronto tra artista e visitatore entra a far parte del processo stesso dell’opera.

In Carrara, the artistic process is never hidden: it becomes landscape, moves through spaces, and reveals itself while still taking shape.

On the occasion of Studi Aperti Carrara, we had the pleasure of engaging with a vibrant and deeply dynamic reality, where artistic practice remains open, tangible, and in constant transformation.

The images shared here offer only a brief excerpt of what we encountered, a selection of works in progress by artists from the Ponte di Ferro collective.

The experience is part of the wider program promoted by Carrara UNESCO, which highlights the dialogue between city, territory, and contemporary artistic production, opening to the public spaces usually dedicated exclusively to creation.

What emerges is an authentic portrait of Carrara, where matter becomes language and the exchange between artist and visitor becomes an integral part of the creative process.

Si è svolto nei giorni scorsi il primo degli appuntamenti estivi di 𝑨𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒍'𝑨𝒓𝒕𝒆, il progetto sviluppato da 𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒑𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒕 𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒚 e SensiArte Galleria in collaborazione con Casali di Casole , parte del circuito Timbers Resorts.

Da oltre dieci anni questa collaborazione nasce da una visione condivisa: trasformare l'ospitalità in un'esperienza culturale autentica, dove arte, architettura e paesaggio dialogano in modo naturale.

Nelle colline toscane, la scultura contemporanea diventa parte integrante dello spazio abitato. Ogni opera viene selezionata attraverso un percorso curatoriale site-specific, studiando il rapporto con l'architettura, la luce, le prospettive e l'identità del luogo.

Non si tratta semplicemente di collocare un'opera, ma di costruire una relazione capace di amplificare il carattere dello spazio e l'esperienza di chi lo vive.

Questi scatti raccontano alcuni dei dialoghi tra scultura, natura e architettura che hanno caratterizzato il primo incontro della stagione.

The first event of this summer's Living Art series has recently taken place at Casali di Casole, part of Timbers Resorts, and Sensi Arte Sister Gallery, marking the continuation of a partnership that has connected Casali di Casole and 𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒑𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒕 𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒚 for over a decade.

Rooted in a shared vision of hospitality as a cultural and authentic experience, 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑨𝒓𝒕 explores the presence of contemporary sculpture within private architecture and exceptional residential landscapes.

Set among the Tuscan hills, each installation emerges from a site-specific curatorial approach, carefully considering the relationship between artwork, architecture, light, landscape, and the identity of the place itself.

The goal is not simply to place a sculpture within a space, but to create a meaningful dialogue that enhances both the artwork and its surroundings, enriching the experience of those who inhabit them.

A collection of moments shared with those who, like us, believed in the power of collaboration and in the uniqueness of this project.

Our heartfelt thanks to Stefano Bombardieri, Anna Lisa Ghirardi, the Vernaccia di San Gimignano Consortium, the Municipality of San Gimignano, friends, collectors, and all the visitors who joined us in celebrating the emotion of art.

From the exhibition opening to the gala dinner, and the symbolic gift presented to the Vernaccia di San Gimignano Consortium, these moments reflect the spirit of a project that brought together contemporary art, territory, and community.

Il tempo sospeso è un tema chiave della poetica di Stefano Bombardieri, incarnato nel rinoceronte sollevato da terra che, da suggestione felliniana, è diventato un vero e proprio alter ego dell'artista.
Nella mostra Sospesi a San Gimignano, l'animale si veste per la prima volta di foglia oro. La grana della sua pelle dialoga con la texture stratificata dei palazzi e il colore aureo con il Duomo, in una risposta di laica spiritualità.

Suspended time is a central theme in Stefano Bombardieri’s poetic vision, embodied by the rhinoceros lifted from the ground which, inspired by a Fellini-inspired vision, has become a true alter ego of the artist.

For the exhibition SOSPESI in San Gimignano, the animal is clad in gold leaf for the very first time. The texture of its skin enters into dialogue with the layered surfaces of the historic buildings, while its golden hue resonates with the Cathedral, creating a response imbued with a sense of secular spirituality.

Intense days of planning, coordination, dedication, and passion, shared side by side with the artist.
Every placement is the result of curatorial reflection; every detail stems from the desire to create a harmonious encounter between artwork, landscape, and audience. It is a process that often remains unseen by visitors, yet it is an essential part of the exhibition experience.

An effort rewarded by the opportunity to see art engage with the extraordinary beauty of San Gimignano, generating new perspectives and meaningful connections between culture, place, and community.
