We are currently working on our new 2026 catalogue — a project that brings together artists, places and visions we deeply care about.

In the meantime, a few glimpses of the process: work in progress, studio visits, and moments behind the scenes.

The cover shown here belongs to our previous edition — the new one is taking shape.

The catalogue will be available soon, both online and in print.

Stay with us.

The Rhinoceros Triptych by Ule Ewelt has arrived at its new home in Mexico.
Three fragments holding the memory, now finding a new balance within the space that welcomes them.

We are grateful to our collector for the trust and delighted to see this work begin a new chapter of its story.

The floor, walls, and pedestals of Nous Art Gallery are finished with La Calce del Brenta (Brenta Lime), a completely natural material whose origin lies in the balanced action of the four elements—earth, water, air, and fire—harmoniously combined through time-honored craftsmanship. This elemental process gives rise to surfaces of exceptional quality, defined by refined textures and an authentic material depth that resonates with the surrounding architecture.

All materials selected by Nous Art Gallery to shape its interior reflect the same curatorial approach that guides the choice of artworks. Natural, carefully researched elements are chosen to preserve and enhance the historic fabric of San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage site, respecting the integrity, breathability, and material character of its traditional architecture.

Through this coherence between space and exhibition, Nous creates an environment where art, architecture, and matter exist in equilibrium. The interior becomes an extension of the gallery’s artistic vision—an essential, timeless setting that deepens the sensory and contemplative experience of art.

Nous Art Gallery is delighted to share a new chapter in the artistic journey of Ule Ewelt.

The German artist, known for her evocative works in ceramics and bronze, has just begun her residency in Santorini.

We wish her every success on this luminous island of light and sea.

P.s. In the video by pupillaquadra, we watch her at work in the studio, where clay take shape with nature’s silent power. The photos are by Maurizio Sorvillo.

_______________

At Nous Art Gallery, our September–October 2025 selection unfolds through paintings, sculptures, and ceramic vessels, creating a dialogue between material, gesture, and memory in contemporary expression.

We are proud to represent and share the work of Carlo Romiti, Ule Ewelt, Terry Davies, Jane Yang D’Haene, Monica Mariniello, and Roberto Ghezzi, whose practices embody a balance of tradition and innovation.

This season’s presentation, captured with sensitivity by photographer Maurizio Sorvillo, conveys the atmosphere and essence of our space.

We warmly invite you to experience this selection in person at our venue in San Gimignano.

Romiti paints lands, woods, animals—and above all, horses. His connection with this animal is so deeply intertwined, almost symbiotic, that it draws the viewer into a journey back through time and into the very meaning of existence. Each depiction is imbued with a profound and undifferentiated respect for the animal and its nature, as well as with a boundless sense of freedom.
In the gallops over red earth, in the sinuous twists of the neck, in the explosion of muscles, the abrupt halts, the sudden fright—one perceives all the innate and original traits of the horse: its beauty, elegance, intelligence, and strength, but also the gentleness of its large eyes and its eternal fear.

"I have always been in the midst of animals and nature. My father was a veterinarian, my grandfather was a doctor and my other grandfather tamed the horses by himself. From an early age I used to go with my father to visit animals from one countryside to another and so I learned to draw the animals I used to see".

The symbolic and corporeal dimensions of the animal merge in the bronze sculpture, which qualifies as the means by which Ewelt aims to reunite these two aspects. A union that, however, maintains the voids, thus embracing the fragmented character of existence.

"The idea of nature that Mariniello proposes is a sublimated nature, one that could exist—or perhaps already does—elusive, unpossessable. An artist’s nature whose beauty and integrity owe much to those who know how to imagine or, perhaps more aptly, to feel: 'Feeling is what allows us to experience the boundary between things in their appearance and the visceral, unconscious side of nature.'"
