“Ines Valentinitsch is a painter of corporeality: bodies that are undefined by uncertain sexual identity or, on the contrary, emphasized by it, many other times instead by ambiguity, in a way where sexuality is no longer a matter of attribution and certainly not a deciding factor.
The use of watercolour serves to accentuate the fluidity of these bodies: expanded and dissolved, underlining the absence of any fixed reference or belonging.
The emphasis rests solely on the vital and sensual dimension of the human being, that sensuality which drives all impulses, lies at the root of all emotions, and operates as the unconscious force behind our evolution from the very earliest childhood.”
