For the inaugural edition of Art Garten Hotels, over 100 works will be exhibited in the gardens of Garten Hotels Switzerland from April to November 2026.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the works of 30 Swiss artists across 21 locations.

Kurt Laurenz Metzler is also represented at the Schatzalp Hotel in Davos with his 2000 work “Newspaper reader”.

Set against the stunning mountain backdrop of Davos, having hosted cultural greats such as Thomas Mann, the Schatzalp invites you to a special garden opening on Saturday 30 May 2026, which harmoniously combines art and nature. We look forward to welcoming you to a delightful aperitif from 3.30 pm, together with the artist Max Roth and the curator Lorenzo Emanuele Metzler, son of Kurt Laurenz Metzler.

The Garten Hotels Schweiz project is being developed in close collaboration with the Swiss Sculpture Triennial Foundation, which is responsible for the Bad Ragartz event.

Ciao Bruno!

Although they never collaborated KLM hugely respected Bruno Bischofberger. Bruno would often visit KLM in his studio and they would ride the Cresta Run in St.Moritz together. Another great has left us.

“Duomo” was created in 1992 as Kurt Laurenz Metzler’s first work in Tuscany and draws inspiration from the forms of the famous Florentine and Sienese domes, transforming them into abstract and dynamic forms.
The long, arched legs and geometric heads seem to merge with the imagined building: human beings becoming architecture, a recurring theme in the artist’s work since the mid-1980s. KLM envisioned this sculpture as a real building, with two habitable floors, glass side walls and moving spire-like heads, oriented in a different direction every hour.
In “Duomo”, the human figure does not inhabit the architecture: it is the architecture itself. A symbol of rootedness, but also of reaching towards the sky, as in the great Gothic projects. A living, animated architecture that challenges the immobility of matter. Visit us and learn more about Duomo and other works in the collection!
