look for fun and absurd ways to hack traditional processes and materials.
Tree Trunk M02V0 was created by blowing molten glass into salvaged tree stems hollowed out by a fungal disease.
In Chained Panel slumped glass was applied over moulded objects.

Combining a playful approach with the seriousness of a product -and welcoming unexpected happenings in the process- provides a framework for the actual work to develop itself into the final outcome. This controlled spontaineity results into a collection of resin and glass sculptural furniture which, through a modular system, can take different shapes and uses.

has collaborated with on bringing a new material dimension to the series BARAAHP, by repurposing Rosso Aurora marble from a retired stonemason. The same sustainability approach is adopted by .bianchi in her Duo Shelf carrara marble series. The work of both designers is characterized by sculptural gestures and emphasizes form, materiality, and spatial relationships.
guarascio.designs inspiration comes from contemporary and ancient human gestures and the interaction between natural elements.
With fire as the true core of the design thinking, he imprints shades on copper which, with the presence of light, create incredible games of colour that transporm the environent into a magical atmosphere.

The Apollo Coffetables from .studio are set under the low ceiling on the first floor of CASELLO 12.
The Apollo collection is made from Italian lava stone. Its monumental and architectural form highlights simple lines and assembly which contrast a refined, crackled glazing finish.

A main aspect in .bang.espersen’s art practice is to develop new approaches to the material glass. “Soft Series” is a group of work made in a technique where glass is stretched and folded.
Regarding the slightly metallic surface look, the secret ingredient is air. When she stretches and folds hot glass, air is continuously trapped in between each string of it. Air, in combination with the optical properties of glass, results in the light being reflected in multiple directions creating this shimmery effect.

Soft Series are rapidly made sculptures situated within a space occupied by the two opposites, control and serendipity. By focusing on unconventional fabrication processes, .bang.espersen aims to physically manifest her interest in deconstructing existing hierarchies - conventional glass making is based on following precise and restrictive rules, but she purposefully disrupts those notions by creating objects that are made fast and with the least amount of restrictions possible.

Focus on Vessels.

’s Kuwabata is a series of vases which external structure relates to an organic order, within the rough and sometimes cutting appearance. Made with great complexity, this pieces are charged with an emotional and aesthetic force, almost subaqueous, evoking thoughts of unknown new marine creatures.
Berber Vases are based on a specific cultural reference from North Africa, where ancient communities created objects designed to catch rain water. Therefore these pieces have an abrupt opening on the top. The series is an interpretation of this concept.

’s Contemporary Ceramic Coffetables are stackable units, which blend with .pottery’s vessels composed by a coil made from mixtures of recycled and collected clays. The series reflect his interest in the universal and ubiquitous nature of the 'vase' as a functional and ritual object in human history.

challenges our perception of the everyday through the fiber glass and resin treated cardboard Karton Hocker 27B Weiß. His practice is marked by the ability to transcend conventional binaries, bridging the realms of thinking and feeling, tradition and innovation, embracing the beauty of imperfection and finding significance in the mundane.

First floor of CASELLO 11: compression and control.

’s Stress Limits Table define the maximum stress a material - plaster in this case - can withstand before the failure under applied forces as compression. The material is manipulated in the last moments of workability causing deformations, tears that enhance the spontaneity of the material. Made in lost wax casting, the table takes on its own individuality and unrepeatability due the process adopted.

On top of it, ’s Bubble Light is blown into the grid and overcomes it, overtaking its physical limits.
Similar language, but opposite process for ’s Berry Lamp, which is blown into a controlled mold.

To complete the room, ’s Fold Lamps are an investigation into the material properties of metal, with an emphasis on the role played by the human body in the process of metal-working.
Hand-crafted from metal sheets, the lamps result in a lightweight but strong form that balances tension and compression.

’s Antenna is a lighted wall-sculpture that plays with reflection, architecture and anachronism. It is inspired by capturing or recording wave tools like a radio antenna, while referring to the aesthetic spirit of the 20s Art Deco.

’s Staple Console implies a construction system made of imbricated aluminum sheets, folded and welded.

As craft designers who aim to communicate through the materials they are using, by experimenting with them, they find surprising outcomes that can be translated into functional design proposals.

’s work balances within the tension between a mastery of the craft and the material’s own chaotic being. Here, a contrast arises between the precise and the fluid optical quality of the glass. With clear glass as the medium the work interprets archetypal objects standing on the pillars of traditional glass working techniques and contorted aesthetics. Shapes and decoration are deformed, flowing in and out of each other and manifests as a modern design object.

The urge to situate the works in a spatial context, in which the specific architectural space will start a dialogue with the objects therein, is a main focus of .
Within the soft arches of Casello 11, Linde Freya Tangelder’s works share a sculptural and architectural character: the Foil Cabinets highlight the field between industry and human. The interventions and finishes by hand, give these architectural objects a tactile aspect.
The same sculptural gesture is perceived in ’s Wax Chairs and Stools. His work studies the use of material and questions their natural intention. Fusing the rough with the smooth, objects once considered waste become useable, formed in a material with its own ephemeral quality.

Curiosity and doubt stimulate the visitors’ mind in CASELLO 11 as some materials are used in disguise: what we expect to be fragile is in fact strong, and what we think it’s soft, it’s hard.

Tejo Remy and René Veenhuizen’s idea for Flexible Formwork Concrete Benches and Vase was to make a soft appearance of concrete in the public space and make it look inflated.

Flexible Formwork is a method of creating concrete structures using a flexible fabric mold, which acts as a flexible barrier that allows the concrete to take on the shape and texture of the formwork while also allowing for intricate and unique designs.

Last two days to visit MAKERS 1.

What makes an object primitive?
Keeping this question in mind, conceived the nightstand-sized PRIMITIVES [1], a 3D-printed, quartz sand object that invites us to wonder whether the answer could be in the generated aesthetics, the tools of creation, or the society it is produced for.
Next to it stands Obione, an item of use built in ‘s workshop and designed to be manufactured autonomously, while opposite is ‘s Alucast — originally sculpted out of a foam block, part of a series of aluminum casted objects.

Come see these and the other works on display today and tomorrow, from 3 to 7 PM.
