We at Chemould Prescott Road are proud to celebrate our artist Dana Awartani () as she unveils her most ambitious commission to date at the National Pavilion of Saudi Arabia (), Biennale Arte 2026.

‘May your tears never dry, you who weep over stones’ is a monumental floor-based installation spanning the entire pavilion at the Arsenale, Venice. A deeply moving meditation on cultural heritage under threat, the work was created in collaboration with 32 master artisans over 30,000 hours, assembling more than 29,000 handmade sunbaked clay earth bricks into intricate mosaics referencing 23 sites of historic significance across Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine.

Curated by Antonia Carver () with assistant curator Hafsa Alkhudairi (), the exhibition is on view until 22 November 2026.

Archana Hande’s () ‘The Last Rust’ closes today.

In the show, farmer’s tools become a peacock, tailor scissors become a mackerel, national identity gets taken apart and put back together. Originally conceived for the Kochi Biennale () in 2022, Archana doesn’t just rebuild but directs how you see and what you notice. And like our gallerist Shireen Gandhy says, “Archana helps us to hold on to what we want to preserve.”

Come see the show today before it closes at 6PM.

Created & filmed by Mukul Kapoor () & Gurman Kaur () for Katha Amaltas Studio ()

Rust that remembers. Surfaces pocked with holes, eaten by time, burnished to a warm amber. In Archana Hande’s () ‘The Last Rust’, every colander face, every scissor blade, every horseshoe carries the grain of its former life: the grit of a flea market.

The show is on view for the next few days, closing soon on 30 April 2026
