Sindhudurg, established in 1981 from Ratnagiri, is the southernmost, coastal administrative district of Maharashtra’s Konkan division, known for its pristine beaches, scenic beauty, and historic forts. With headquarters at Oros, it is famous for Alphonso mangoes, cashews, and rich biodiversity, along with tourist spots like Tarkarli and Amboli Ghat.

Every couple has a unique story. When we illustrate a wedding card, we have the freedom to create and imagine any setting or background that reflects their journey.
For this Maharashtrian wedding, the bride had one special request — to include the sacred Triyuginarayan Temple in the background.
A little history about this temple: Located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, it is a Vishnu temple believed to be the divine wedding site of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The eternal flame that burns in front of the temple is said to have witnessed their celestial marriage, making it a deeply symbolic and meaningful backdrop for a wedding invitation.
The invitations were designed in both Marathi and English. I’ve also shared a few glimpses from the process to showcase the detailed steps involved in designing a wedding card. The journey included creating a line drawing as per the brief, adding color, hand-lettering the couple’s names in calligraphy, designing the content pages, and formatting the Marathi text (either typeset or handwritten, depending on preference).
We also designed the cover carefully — in this case, using printed butter paper wrapping for a few selected cards, which elevated the overall look and elegance of the invite. Finally, everything was converted into print-ready files to bring the entire vision to life.

This was a graduation gift from a proud wife to her husband on the day of his final PhD presentation.

The collage beautifully captures his journey of hard work and perseverance in earning the prestigious “Dr. rer. nat.” title. Even with a bundle of patents to his name, he took a leap of faith—starting over as a student in Germany, driven by the desire to achieve more.

From long study hours to traveling across the US, Switzerland, Ireland, Japan, London, and beyond for paper presentations—winning Best Paper Awards and gaining well-deserved recognition along the way—his journey was nothing short of inspiring.

Living alone, surviving on takeout dinners, and thinking of his baby back home…

Five years later, he finally completed his thesis—stronger, wiser, and now, Doctor.

Every couple has a story, and when a wedding invite reflects that story, it becomes even more special. For this invite, the bride envisioned a distinct Marathi touch with a contemporary look, featuring elements like marigold flowers and banana leaves. The couple also wanted to include details from their everyday lives—such as paints and a laptop—making the design truly personal. And of course, the final illustration wouldn’t be complete without a couple portrait, lovingly featuring their family dog.
