🐾 Poppy and the rock of the day! 🖤

Our little gallery superstar is at it again! ⭐

Once a lost soul, now happily living her best life in her forever home, Poppy continues to keep us entertained with her sweet nature, cheeky antics and rather unusual choice of treasures.

Today's obsession? A black… square… rock. 🪨

Why this particular rock? What makes it so special? Only Poppy knows! 😂

You really never know what she'll be doing next, and that's half the fun of having her around.

After all, the best friend you can have isn't a boring one! ❤️🐶

🎨 From Bali to the Perth Hills! 🌿

One of the reasons Zanzibar Art House is taking a little break this October is that our owners, Tim and Christine, are back in their home state of Western Australia for Mundaring Hills Open Studios!

Both Tim and Christine are creatives at heart, and this year Christine is one of the participating artists in this wonderful celebration of local art and creativity. ❤️

So, whether you're an old mate, a familiar face or a new friend we've yet to meet, if you're in WA, here's a lovely excuse to head for the Perth Hills this spring! 🌸

Explore the studios, meet the artists, soak up some creative inspiration and, of course, pop in and say hello to Christine!

We'd love to see some familiar Zanzibar Art House faces among the visitors. And if we haven't met yet, what better place to start?

🐾 Poppy, our beloved gallery dog, won't be making an appearance in Perth. She's staying behind in Ubud, happily guarding the gallery garden… or, more accurately, digging it up! 🌿🐶

While we're away, we thought we'd take the opportunity to remind you of the wonderfully diverse collection of art, jewellery, crafts, textiles, photography and so much more that we love sharing at Zanzibar Art House. ✨

Take these gorgeous Street Dog ceramics, for example! Made right here in Bali, featuring beautiful sgraffito detailing and glazes, each piece has its own unique character and charm. 🐕

They're just one example of the creativity, craftsmanship and quality you'll discover at ZAH.

There's always something a little different to catch your eye, make you smile or tempt you to take a special piece home.

We may be closed for the month, but that doesn't mean we can't keep sharing some of the beautiful stories, artworks and processes that make ZAH so special.

Today we're flashing back to the magic of oil gum printing.

This is the washing stage, where the image slowly begins to reveal itself. There's something quite mesmerising about watching the process unfold, particularly with a portrait as beautiful as this Bali Elder.
It's a gorgeous reminder of the craftsmanship and patience behind every finished piece.

The Bali Elder image is available from ZAH and can be printed to order. So while our gallery doors may be taking a little break this month, you can still get in touch with us about the works you love.

ZAH is taking a little adventure… 🇦🇺🎨

The gallery is now closed while we head to Australia for a few weeks of art, family, exploring and, no doubt, plenty of inspiration along the way.

We'll be back in Ubud and reopening on 30 October, hopefully with full hearts, fresh ideas and a few stories to tell.

Thanks for your patience while we're away — and we look forward to welcoming you back into ZAH very soon.

The dogs are off the leash… 🐕🎨
