Anna Bölcskeiová - Ivan's Special Award 🏆

Dear Friends,

We would like to express our huge congratulations to Anna Bölcskeiová, winner of Ivan's Special Award at Golden Duck Gallery!

We are beyond thrilled to present this award to the talented Slovak artist for her captivating silkscreen print, "Pomalý ako gepard" (Slow as a Cheetah).

This milestone is a true testament to your creative vision, and we know this is only the beginning of an extraordinary artistic journey—keep inspiring the world with your amazing talent!

Driven by a desire to create connections across cultures and engage with new artistic environments, Anna brings a deeply introspective voice to modern printmaking. In this piece, she masterfully uses animal metaphor to explore the multifaceted nature of womanhood—balancing vulnerability, strength, responsibility, and inner reflection. While the cheetah is universally recognized as a symbol of immense speed, Anna flips this expectation on its head.

Set against a bold palette of deep purples, vivid pinks, and warm yellows, a seated woman rests peacefully beside a calm cheetah. The scene radiates a profound sense of stillness, gently reminding us in today's fast-paced world to slow down, pause, and engage in meaningful self-reflection.

Congratulations once again to Anna on this well-deserved recognition!❤️

Fitosart - Special Media Award

Dear Friends,

A huge congratulations to Fitosart - "RoussLó" on winning the Special Media Award at Golden Duck Gallery! 🎨✨

RoussLó is an artwork that literally invites us to look beyond the surface.

A large zipper opens the canvas and reveals a hidden world behind it — a surreal landscape where a horse-headed character in a hat and elegant suit appears surrounded by water, lotus flowers, exotic plants and a quiet moonlit atmosphere. The familiar and the unexpected come together in a scene that feels both humorous and mysterious.

The “picture within a picture” creates the feeling that we are catching a glimpse of a reality that was always there, just waiting to be uncovered. The zipper becomes a playful portal between the ordinary world and the artist’s imagination, while the classical-looking composition contrasts beautifully with the absurdity of the central character.

For the development of the visual concept, the artist used artificial intelligence as an inspirational tool, combining contemporary technology with classical artistic references and a highly distinctive personal vision.

Classic inspiration, surreal imagination and a bold modern approach — RoussLó certainly gives us a reason to take a second look.

Congratulations, fitosart, on receiving the Special Media Award! 🏆💛

Ashin - Concept Award

Dear Friends,

We are delighted to congratulate Ashin on receiving the Concept Award at our Rock, Paper, Scissors exhibition!

The winning artwork, Rock-Paper-Scissors, turns one of the simplest and most universally understood games into a striking three-dimensional artwork.

A real stone sits on a sheet of paper, while a pair of scissors cuts across it — three familiar objects brought together in one composition. The materials themselves become part of the message: stone, paper and scissors are instantly recognizable, regardless of language, culture or background.

What makes the concept particularly engaging is its simplicity. There is no need for a long explanation — you see the objects and immediately understand the game. At the same time, the work invites us to think about how something so simple can become a symbol of communication and connection on a global scale.

As the artist describes it, it is “the simplest game on a planetary scale, where knowledge of any languages is not required” — a playful yet thoughtful celebration of internationalism.

Congratulations, Ashin, on this well-deserved recognition! 🥂

We are happy to have this clever and memorable work as part of Rock, Paper, Scissors at Golden Duck Gallery. ✨
