Woburn Heritage Museum Welcome to the Woburn Heritage Centre and Museum is where the rich history of our town comes to life.

The Woburn Heritage Museum is in the centre of Woburn village, housed in the redundant church of Old St Mary’s in the village churchyard, set back from the main street. Our museum is a treasure trove of artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of Woburn's past, from the earliest settlements to the present day. Through our exhibits, you can learn about the people, events, and industries that have shaped our village into what it is today. As you explore our museum, you will discover fascinating artifacts, including antique furniture, tools, and equipment that were once used by the people of Woburn. You will also find a range of exhibits that highlight our heritage and culture, from the traditional crafts and skills of our ancestors to the vibrant community life of today. Our goal is to provide a fun and informative experience for visitors of all ages and interests. We are proud of our rich heritage, and we invite you to come and explore it with us at the Woburn Heritage Centre & Museum. Whether you are a local resident or a visitor to the area, we look forward to sharing the story of Woburn with you..

☕📖 A quiet cup of tea… and a journey through Woburn’s past

Our museum shop has copies of The Woburn Story, written by Gill Green, a volunteer with Woburn Heritage Museum.

It’s a lovely book to dip into — full of short chapters on Woburn’s history, including the Abbey, the markets, the fires, the Dukes of Bedford, Woburn School, the World Wars, clocks and bells, and much more.

Perfect for reading over a cup of tea, buying as a gift, or taking home as a reminder of your visit to Woburn.

Copies are available from the museum shop during opening hours.
