So pop on by - we'll be open from 10am to 4pm. You can enjoy free guided tours with the Friends of Ridgmont Station, share your memories of the line ahead of its 180th anniversary celebrations, and treat yourself to refreshments including homemade cakes, scones, cream teas and more.

Today marks the beginning of Heritage Open Days, which is taking place from 11 to 20 September, and Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre is opening its doors for the week!

We shall be open 10am to 4pm every day, from Friday 11th to Sunday 20th.

Join the Refreshments Team at Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre! ☕

Do you enjoy meeting people, working as part of a friendly team and serving a good cup of tea or coffee?

The Friends of Ridgmont Station are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help in our Refreshments Team.

Volunteering with our refreshments team is a rewarding way to get involved in the life of the Heritage Centre. You'll help provide a warm welcome to visitors by serving tea, coffee and light refreshments, while enjoying the unique atmosphere of our historic railway station.

Why volunteer with us?

A reminder that tomorrow, the "100 Years of Stewartby History" exhibition will take place at Stewartby Village Hall - Saturday 5 September, 12pm to 4pm. For more info, see the post below.

This year marks a remarkable milestone as Stewartby celebrates its centenary, 100 years since the village was established in 1926 for workers of the London Brick Company.

To mark the occasion, the "100 Years of Stewartby History" exhibition will take place at Stewartby Village Hall on Saturday 5 September, 12pm to 4pm.

With free entry, visitors can explore memorabilia from the past century, see historic footage, learn more about the village's fascinating heritage, and discover the story of the community that grew alongside one of Britain's most famous brickmaking industries.

As custodians of local railway and industrial heritage, everyone at Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre is delighted to see this important milestone being celebrated and would encourage anyone with an interest in local history to pay a visit.

Congratulations to Stewartby on 100 years of history, community and heritage!

Our wonderful Friends of Ridgmont Station volunteers are looking for new members to join their friendly refreshments team!

This involves serving refreshments from a menu - including hot and cold drinks, sausage rolls, homemade cakes and scones from Cakes By Elaine, cream tea and ice cream. Food Hygiene Certificate Level One and other training provided.

Shifts are 10:30 to 1:30 and 1:30 to 4:00, Wednesday to Saturday.
