Summer is nearly over and I finally created a set of images I am happy with for this year’s seasonal offerings.
Never underestimate the challenge of illustrating winter in a heat wave 🙄
For the organised amongst you , cards and notecards will be available to order soon.
Next up…calendars. 😬

Lovely view of the hills today from the top of George Street. Despite this being home I have yet to do an acceptable travel poster of Whithorn - maybe I'll try again ... (put it on the list 🙄)

There were so many things I should have been doing today but instead I drew a fox... obviously. 🙄 OK back to the list.

Out for a brisk evening walk, trying to get the creaking old leg muscles back to life after a summer spent sitting on my backside doing arty, shoppy things🙈 so lucky to have this on our doorstep!

These big A1 canvases are perfect for covering a dodgy bit of plaster or maybe hiding a wall safe (I may have watched too many telly programmes with hidden safes - does anyone actually have one?) .
Or maybe you just want a nice big colourful piece of art to brighten your walls.
Either way these are available to order with any of my images on either online or in the Cross House Gallery.
Go big or go home!!

Thank you so much to the lovely customer who sent this fabulous review received on my website this morning!! And yes very happy to report that I am indeed a human artist - I know that because I need new glasses and my leg hurts :)

"Travel poster art style was just what we were looking for"

As well as Bruce’s Stone, we also purchased travel posters of Devorgilla Bridge in Dumfries, Kirkcudbright Harbour, and the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse and Puffins. We were looking for matching paintings/prints for our recently refurbished kitchen. We wanted something that would suit our modern looking decor, and colour. We also wanted something that would remind us of the wonderful times we have spent in the Dumfries and Galloway area. We visited the galleries of Kirkcudbright, but we couldn’t quite find a matching pair that suited our needs. I then discovered Galloway Arts online, and the poster art style matched our needs perfectly. The only issue was, which ones should we choose. In the end, we ended up buying four of them from the collection. They were delivered in a couple of working days from placing the order, and were extremely well packed. They were packed flat, not in a tube, which is much better. We are very pleased with our purchase, and now when we are enjoying our breakfast, we can transport ourselves back into the places we love to visit in Dumfries and Galloway, with the comforting thought, that they we created by a human artist.

A big hello to all my new followers - who knew a painting of Stranraer would be quite so popular!

So for those of you who don't know - a wee introduction to me.
I'm Caroline and I live in Whithorn with my husband and a grumpy cat. I run the Cross House Gallery in Whithorn with my friend Raw Art at Studio17 where we stock lovely gifts, artwork and cards - lots made by us, right here in Whithorn.

10 boring facts about me.
1. From the Midlands.
2. Moved to Whithorn in 2014.
3. Qualify for a bus pass but don't have one.
4. Real ginger. 😉
5. Play golf reasonably well.
6. Graphic Designer for .a. very. very. long. time.
7. Love drawing and reading.
8. Hate cooking.
9. Music - random from Abba & Take That to the Manic Street Preachers & Stereophonics with some Oasis and Elton John thrown in for good measure.🕺
10. TV - Detectorists, Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, Chateau DIY 😁

Please do pop and and say Hi if you're visiting the Machars. We'd love to see you x
