A very enjoyable demo last night for Marple Art Society!

Always a packed room and such a welcoming crowd - a real pleasure to paint for you all.

I worked on a piece featuring Taxal Church, somewhere I’ve been meaning to paint for ages. I often run past it, have stopped and taken far too many photos over the years, and now it’s finally happening! There’s something very satisfying about finally getting a long awaited idea onto the canvas.
Fortunately I was all packed up and on our way before the heavens opened! ☔️

A lovely evening of painting, chatting and sharing the process. Thank you, Marple Art Society, for having me!

Enjoying a little pre-workshop season prep yesterday, with the help of my very talented student, Edie! 🎨 A huge thank you to her for all her help.

I’m getting everything ready for the autumn workshops, with new dates being announced in September. I’ll keep you posted!

Our new RWA Gallery flyers have arrived! ✨

We’d love to get them out and about, so if you’re a local business, café, pub, restaurant, hotel, B&B or other hospitality venue and would be happy to display a few for us, we’d be absolutely delighted! ☺️
We can pop some over to you - just send us a message and let us know. We’ve got lots in the gallery too.

We’re currently adding local businesses to our website - things for people to do in Whaley when they visit. So pop in and lets us know if you’d like including.

This weekend Hathersage Swimming Pool celebrates their 90th Anniversary; as part of the celebration Hathersage Memorial Hall are hosting an anniversary exhibition, and I’m delighted to showing two pieces there.

Sunday is for members and the local community but Saturday is open to everyone, so if so pop in and have a look.

It’s set to be a fantastic celebration with swimming, live music, local art and plenty of community spirit. Congratulations to everyone who has helped make Hathersage Pool such a special place over the last 90 years!

What a fabulous final day at Art in the Octagon! ☀️ It was great chatting with so many of you and seeing such fantastic support for this event.

Over the three days I’ve also been busy working on this brand new piece inspired by beautiful Buxton in the sun, and it’s almost finished. Look forward to sharing the completed painting with you very soon!

A huge thank you to everyone who visited, supported the artists, and helped make this event such a success.

Day one in the Octagon is complete! 🎨

It’s been a wonderful start, and I’ve begun a brand-new painting inspired by beautiful Buxton. There’s still plenty to do, so if you’re in the area, pop into the Octagon Hall and watch the painting come to life over the next few days.
