And he’s off! Stephen has set out in our 1948 Albion lorry for the Biggar Rally in Scotland.

After last year’s 700-mile round trip, he’s back on the road with this fantastic piece of history.

🚜 The first of our exhibits has arrived for Statfold’s 40’s Weekender!

We’re excited to welcome this fantastic thrashing box, made by Allan Brothers of Aberdeen, as part of our 1940s weekend display.

But what is a threshing box?

A threshing machine, was an important piece of agricultural equipment used to separate grain from the stalks and husks after harvest. Before machines like this, the job was done by hand using flails, which was slow, tiring and labour-intensive work. Machines like this helped transform farming by making the process much faster and more efficient.

This example was built by Allan Brothers of Aberdeen, a well-known Scottish engineering firm recognised for its agricultural machinery and oil engines.

Step back in time at Statfold for our upcoming 1940s event!

Join us for a nostalgic day of vintage sights, sounds and atmosphere as we bring history to life — including the chance to see the Burton & Ashby Tramcar No.14 in operation.

Built in 1906 by Brush of Loughborough, No.14 once ran between Burton-upon-Trent and Ashby-de-la-Zouch before an incredible journey that eventually brought it home to Statfold via Detroit.

Now, visitors can enjoy seeing this remarkable survivor running once again as part of a truly memorable day out.

Whether you love local history, heritage transport, the 1940s era, or simply a great family day out, this is one not to miss.

Howard is heading north!

Howard was picked up by Heritage railway movements ltd last night for its visit to the South Tynedale Railway for their Steam Gala Weekends on 4th, 5th, 11th & 12th July.

Don’t forget we will also be running trains here at Statfold on these dates too!

Bord Na Mónday!

After we finished our restoration of the Hunslet-built ‘Tamar’ 3756 of 1952, we started work on re-gauging one of the diesel locomotives that we purchased from Bord Na Móna!

Here we see the results…LM407 on test at Statfold Junction! Originally built to 3ft gauge for use on the extensive Bord Na Móna network, it is now 2ft gauge for use here at Statfold!
