Rock pools and sea side textures!
We've got a lovely new delivery from Sally Ovenden including her fabulous rock pool bowls. Combining textures and, bare and glazed ceramic with the details on her pieces brings these pieces to life and is like taking a piece of the coast home with you.

⭐ARTIST SPOTLIGHT⭐

Lisa Berkshire is one of our resident artists at the gallery, and a SUPER amazing illustrator. I know lots of you are probably already familiar with her work so let’s have a look!
Lisa is an established illustrator and completes her pieces with drawing, digital techniques and hand-printing. Her beautiful work incorporates themes from myths and folktales, the sea, landscapes and nature as well as children’s literature. We particularly love the found objects she illustrates such as pebbles!

🔎Material spotlight… Ceramics🔎

The use of clay to create functional and decorative wares goes back centuries, and has developed in to the wide variety products available to us today.

With a wide variety of clay bodies, modelling and firing processes and glazes to choose from, the possibilities for creating with clay are endless. Porcelain, stoneware; thrown, slab built, slip cast; impressed, carved and burnished; just to name a few. Being such a hands on material, it is a fabulous medium for capturing textures, mark making and movement which our ceramic artists represent wonderfully in their functional and decorative pieces.

Our ceramicists include Bridget Brittain, Fiona Kelly, Helene Champrond, Harriet Wesley, Jacqui Fairweather, Kerry Jury, Louise Pull, Sally Ovenden and Tim Rose.

⭐ARTIST SPOTLIGHT⭐

A rather special artist spotlight because it’s one of our very own that you can often find working away on her easel in the gallery. It’s Kasia!
And she's been busy with lots of new pieces now at the gallery.

Kasia’s work is stunning, those pastels and colours just melt into each other. With a flavour of semi-abstract brush strokes, her little landscapes are perfect tiny pieces of Purbeck, glimpses of all the Grey’s, Green’s and blue’s that make up our beautiful little part of England. . .and very soon, we’ll have prints of Kasia’s work in the gallery!
