After a long period of closure The R&A is pleased to welcome visitors to The R&A World Golf Museum. Re-named and re-branded to connect the Museum more visibly to the organisation of which it is part, namely The Royal and Ancient Golf Club and The R&A, the Museum offers a fresh and exciting approach to the display and interpretation of golf's history. There's a lot to explore at this 5 star visitor
experience. Our new immersive galleries bring the Past, Present and Future of Golf to Life Around You. Thousands of fascinating objects, some on display for the first time and dating back over 400 years, bring to life hidden stories of the game and it's personalities. Our fabulous Shop and rooftop Café are open for all to enjoy. Step outside and you are just yards away from the 1st tee of the iconic Old Course. Welcome to St Andrews.

"Being a was never on my career radar growing up in the East Neuk of Fife, but that’s been my path, and proud of it. I am the Learning & Access Curator, and love delving into various topics for families events to our lecture series.
Thanks to the encouragement of colleagues, club members and our community of golf historians and writers, a whole world has opened up to me. I’m fascinated by the pioneers of the sport and sharing their stories is what drives the work I do."

Meet engraving royalty, Garry Harvey! Garry has been engraving for the R&A for 18 years, having taken over the role from his father, Alex Harvey, in 2004.
Most commonly seen on TV coverage of the AIG Women’s Open and The Open as the Champion’s name is etched into history, Garry is also responsible for the R&A club trophies.
A Perthshire native, Garry is a very accomplished golfer and was victorious in the Boys Amateur in 1972 at Moortown. He remains the only winner to engrave his own name on the trophy!

On what would have been Bobby Locke's birthday we look back at his 1950 Open Championship successive win 👀 An Open Championship win for Bobby Locke which put him up amongst the names of James Braid, Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen to win successive Open Championships 🏆 Bobby Locke was trailing two strokes at the halfway mark of The 1950 Open Championship at Royal Troon and finished the third round in a tie for 1️⃣st. An immaculate final round of 6️⃣8️⃣ gave Locke a two stroke victory and his second Claret Jug in successive years 🏆
