Sid Vale Association

Sid Vale Association Founded in 1846, the Sid Vale Association works to protect the heritage of the Sid Valley and promote conservation.

We own and manage the Sidmouth Museum and support recreational and cultural activities that celebrate our local community. The Sid Vale Association was founded in 1846 to protect the landscape and amenities of the Sid Valley.
• It owns and manages over 40 acres of land in the Upper Byes, Peaslands Knapp, Salcombe Regis and around the Valley.
• It owns and runs the nationally accredited Sidmouth Mu

seum, which attracts over 13,000 visitors each year.
• It maintains over 50 miles of footpaths, and patrols the River Sid to help keep it free of litter and pollution.
• It runs events, walks and talks and produces regular newsletters.
• The SVA relies on volunteers for all its work, but it still has to find a large amount of money to provide and maintain these facilities.

We're delighted to welcome American author Julie Klassen to Sidmouth to talk about her 'On the Devonshire Shores' trilogy, set right here in Sidmouth.

In conversation with Nigel Hyman, Julie will share how Sidmouth's Regency history inspired her novels and why readers in America are so captivated by Regency England.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the author, hear about her work, and ask your own questions during the evening.

£5 admission includes a glass of wine or a soft drink.

Monday 15th June, 6pm. To book your place, email [email protected]
