Visitors are given a unique and immersive prison experience combined with first class customer service. Shepton Mallet Prison was built in 1625 and closed in 2013, making it the countries oldest prison. with over 400 years of history behind its high walls, Shepton Mallet Prison is a must see heritage site.

Have you ever experienced something at Shepton Mallet Prison that you couldn’t explain?

During the Second World War, American servicemen sentenced to death under US military law were brought here to be executed. Behind these walls, the consequences of crime and punishment became final.

Today, that history gives the prison’s quiet spaces a different weight. An empty corridor. A closed cell door. A sound you can’t quite place.

For those drawn to the paranormal, it raises a question: can a place hold an echo of its past?

Three music channels, glowing headphones and your favourite people… plus a few uninvited guests. Scare actors will be roaming amongst you, waiting for the moment you forget they’re there. 🔒🩸

While leading a tour through Shepton Mallet Prison’s ex*****on chamber, Paul began telling the story of Private Lee Davis—an executed inmate known to have been a heavy smoker. Then something happened that nobody could explain.

Paul suddenly felt a searing pain in his hand. Moments later, a mark resembling a cigarette burn appeared on his skin. Visitors reportedly felt the temperature drop as an uneasy silence filled the chamber.
