Deck the Mill – A Handmade Christmas Tree Decorations Exhibition

Farfield Mill is inviting artists and makers to submit work for Deck the Mill, our festive exhibition celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship of handmade Christmas tree decorations.

We’re looking for beautifully made, original decorations designed to hang on a Christmas tree. Whether you create delicate ceramics, fused glass, felted ornaments, woven stars, paper art, wood, willow, metalwork or textiles, we’d love to hear from you.

Traditional or contemporary, colourful or minimalist – if it’s’s handmade and full of festive charm, we’d love to showcase it.

🎁 Celebrate the season, share your creativity, and inspire visitors with unique handmade decorations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of our latest exhibitions. It was wonderful to see the galleries filled with visitors, artists, friends and supporters celebrating the start of a new exhibition season at Farfield Mill.

Today we welcome three new exhibitions to Farfield Mill, each offering a unique perspective on creativity, craftsmanship and storytelling.

🧵 TEXT & TEXTILE! – Connie Flynn
Inspired by everyday phrases with roots in the textile industry, Connie combines hand stitching and repurposed textiles to explore the language and history of cloth.

🎨 Exploration and Discovery – Cumbria Printmakers
A showcase of contemporary printmaking from artists across Cumbria, celebrating the diverse techniques, styles and subjects that make printmaking such a rich and exciting medium.

🌊 Glimpses of Our Bay – ArtyBird Fellowship
An exhibition of work inspired by the landscapes, wildlife and communities of Morecambe Bay, created by artists from the ArtyBird Fellowship programme.

Join us and be among the first to explore these inspiring new exhibitions.
