28th June 1979 news edition saw Dawes lane coke ovens come on stream with the second battery being lit by sir Charles Villiers. And a small story on saving the nations petrol!

Throw Back Thursday

18th of may 1978 had an article from John Forman on Steam locomotives, notably the British Rail 9F. Also Featured is the story of Danes visiting the 2 rod mills at the time, also featured we're the Obituary's and the Blood drive.

This weeks TBT goes back to May 1994, with the introduction of Drivers having to stop at all rail crossings on the works, Who would have thought that anyone would try and take on a locomotive and its train in a motor vehicle.
