Unveiling the name!

June 1993 steel news ran a story on the 63rd steelworks gala. Special guest was our Locomotive Hutnik on a Lorry not long after her arrival in Scunthorpe to the AFRPS. And the name being unveiled by special guest John Graham. You can also see and AFR member showing children inside the firebox.

28th June 1979 news edition saw Dawes lane coke ovens come on stream with the second battery being lit by sir Charles Villiers. And a small story on saving the nations petrol!

If you're holidaying near the North Lincolnshire area , we have places available on our brake van tours in August on our steam and diesel brake van tours.

We give you the unique opportunity to Explore the steelworks from the safety of one of our brake vans. See the wonderous height of the last operational blast furnaces in the UK towering in the distance as we weave between the buildings and across the 2000acre site that is Scunthorpe steelworks, whilst keeping out a keen eye for a glimpse of molten metal.

We are the only steelworks to offer some form of a tour to the public in Europe, so don't miss out on this unique opportunity,
