If you’re thinking of frightfully fun things to do this October half-term, make sure to put our Halloween events at King John’s House in your diary!🎃👻

Join us for Halloween Tales on Saturday 31 October, with an enchanting tour of the King John’s House grounds, meeting a cast of mysterious and spooky characters, trying craft activities and enjoying a warming cup of hot chocolate. From 5pm to 6.30pm and 7pm to 8.30pm, £8 per person.

While youngsters will love Halloween Cookie Decorating on Monday 26 October, with the chance to get into the Halloween ‘spirit’ and decorate their own spooky Halloween cookie! From 10.30am to 2pm, £5 per cookie.

Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment! 🎃✨

Romsey Abbey is hosting a fascinating evening exploring the remarkable stories of the women of medieval Romsey and the books that shaped their lives.

The talk is part of the annual Ethelflaeda Lecture at Romsey Abbey, presented by Dr Freddie Law Turner, Chair of the Board of Trustees at King John's House.

"Romsey Ladies and their Books" will uncover the story of the famous Romsey Psalter and Wilton Psalter, exploring the vital role manuscripts played in the lives of medieval nuns and the history of Romsey's religious community.

We are looking for a proactive Café Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our busy café. This is a hands-on role where you'll lead the team, manage operations, maintain food safety standards, develop menus and promotions, and help grow income while delivering an excellent experience for our visitors.

🚧 Temporary Access Changes from Monday 21 September 🚧

As part of ongoing conservation work, the Church Street entrance will be closed for approximately one week while window conservation takes place.

Visitors can still access the site via the Lortemore Place gate entrance, which will remain open throughout the works. Please note that there will be no access to Church Street via the gardens during this time.

The good news is that our gardens and café will remain open as normal, so please do come and visit us.

Thank you for your patience and support as we care for this historic site.
