We would like to say a huge thank you to Andrew Robinson of D&R Castleford and Matthew Webster, landscape gardener for supplying and planting the lovely Red Robin hedge around the perimeter wall.

Our garden is taking shape nicely.
We are hoping to have a couple of wooden benches soon to enable our visitors to enjoy this space too.

Temporary changes to vehicle access on Castle Chain.

From Friday 28th August to Friday 27th November 2026 there will be no vehicle access up to the main entrance gates of Pontefract Castle. This includes disabled access.

This is part of Pontefract Masterplan's "Streets for People" project.

You will still be able to access the Museum and Castle on foot.
You will be able to drop people off up to the 'road closed' signs.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by these works, it is beyond the control of Elizabeth Love Museum.
