Just a little update on where we are now regarding premises for our organization Castleford Art Space As we now have a new local government we are still waiting for the outcome of our Expression of interest to take on the old mechanics institute on Saga street.
We eagerly wait the outcome, I decided to share this video I made of what we actually achieved in a short space of time.

Hello, and a Happy New Year!🥂

We want to reassure you all that we a working hard in the background to make sure that the old coop unit in Henry Moore square will be occupied by Castleford Art Space !

Myself, Dawn Blatherwick Artist and Sarah from Newbould's Bakery, had a very positive meeting with Councillor Denise Jeffries and others from Wakefield Council.
Denise has been an integral part in our journey, to acquire the space, and we thank her for all her help.😊
We will be sending out an email newsletter, which will have more information about what we plan to do with this space. If you would like to sign up, please email @gmail.com and express an interest.

A look back at our celebration day, where we shared our Castleford roots project with the people of Castleford. All of this would not have been possible without the culture grant from Wakefield Council.
The project Castleford roots, involved the community who were asked the question how do you use Castleford? The community then helped to create a tree of aspirations for Castleford creating leafs with images that represent their wishes for the town.
On the day we also had performances by local actors who told the story of Castlefor, from Romans to the coal miners
We can't wait to get into our new space in the new year and bring more projects to Castleford
