Steve's new Sublimation Mug Press is up and running, and through a specialist printing company he's now able to create images of his artworks for transferring on to blank mugs. Photos are of his first two tests which turned out fine! Expect a varied range of mugs soon, many with matching coasters...

Another card and print set up from Steve.
Based on the famous 'Great Wave off Kanagawa' print by Hokusai (yes, I had to look that up!), Steve has painstakingly recreated and redrawn that print, and combined it with his own artwork of Penarth Pier. This will be available as both prints and cards.

Available as cards and prints, 'High Tide at Penarth' features an array of underwater sea dwellers, lurking in the dark waters beneath the Pavilion.

We’re thrilled to have these beautiful wood items in store again. Our wood turner Paul has an eye for the beauty hidden inside the wood, and will often incorporate the blemishes into a beautiful finished item (after all, don’t we all want people to accept us as we are too 🥰). Woods currently in stock include elm, maple, ash, acacia and oak.

Work in progress on Sandra’s beading mat: a daisy chain bracelet that will be for sale over the weekend at the Penarth Open Garden Trail in the home of Diana Mead at 77 Coleridge Ave, Penarth.
Diana’s is just one of the gardens that will be open for the event this weekend Saturday 22 July (10am - 6pm) and Sunday 23 July (11am - 5pm), helping to support The Children’s Society.

A great opportunity for all the young artists in Penarth to shine ❤️

Penarth Business Group presents our 𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. It's time to let your creativity shine!

This year, we have four exciting categories for young artists to choose from: 'Shop Local' poster for under 12 years and 12 to 17 years inclusive, as well as 'My favourite Penarth shop, eatery, business, or shopping area' for the same age groups.

Hand in your masterpieces at Griffin Books, Glass by Design, Penarth Library, or View Publishing @ Milkshed before the closing date on Saturday, 2 September 2023.

Your artworks will be proudly displayed in local shops and businesses throughout September, and winners will be selected by a distinguished panel of judges, with an additional 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚'𝙨 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 vote. The prize-giving ceremony, hosted by the Town Mayor, will be held in October, so mark your calendars and let the artistic journey begin!

Judith Martin-Jones Glass Designs.
Judith currently has a large selection of small box framed glass pictures, including Garden in a Box and Beach in a Box. New to the range now is Meadow in a Box.
As we become more aware of how vital the bee and insect population is to our food chain, it’s lovely to see pockets of wild flower meadows cropping up locally. Many thanks to everybody involved in managing these for all our enjoyment.
These artworks are priced at just £30 each, and make lovely small presents.

Steve's new range of neon continuous Line Piers are starting to arrive in the shop.
Using fluorescent spray paints for the backgrounds, the luminescence really does add a vivid effect as seen in nature at sunrise and sunsets.
Because of the colours, they cannot be printed as the colours cannot be duplicated, so only available as originals, although Steve has found a Printer who can print in neon colours so watch this space. Complimented by dark purple acrylic clouds to finish them off. Get your sunglasses on!...

A3 in size, mounted in a generous 20" by 16" white mount, ready to frame as you wish.
Prints will be available to buy towards the end of the week.

Steve's artwork of the Fab Four has now been finished. It will be off to the printers at the start of next week, and will be sold as cards and large mounted A3 prints.

Work in progress! Steve says: Here's a take on the famous photo of the Beatles crossing the road on a zebra crossing! Started this this morning.
Instead of the fab four, here's 4 fab Welsh symbols.
A Welsh Lady, a Rugby player, a dragon followed by a sheep!
And to make it a bit more special, the roundabout with the clock in the center of Penarth will feature behind them.

Steve was approached by a new shop in Carmarthen via email, asking if he'd like to join them selling his stock. He says 'I caught 3 buses there, ran into the shop, dropped off the stock, ran for the first of 3 buses back. Found out a month later via a photo album my sister made for me, our mother was born in 4 Mill Street, Carmarthen. The shop is 4 Mill Street Carmarthen. I'd ran in to my mum's birth home, and my grandparent's home. Chances of that happening is roughly 25 million to one. That's the number of houses there are in the UK....
The family home is the one with the yellow sign.
