✨🎉Callooh Callay! Alice’s Day is just around the corner ✨🎉
💖With themed street theatre, talks, workshops, crafts – there’s something for everyone! Here’s what to expect on Saturday 4th July:
✨The Story Museum: Enjoy half-price entry to the Galleries and Small Worlds; courtyard face painting; try your hand a Snarks & Riddles, the giant interactive boardgame designed by the Story Curators; indulge in a Wonderland Afternoon Tea – cakes, savouries and treats served up in the Magic Common Room (advance booking required)
Join Anna James for Alice With a Why — an interactive storytelling event with games, true-or-false fun, and a chance to create your own Wonderland tea party story!
✨Across the city:
✨Keep your eyes peeled for Alice herself chasing the White Rabbit in a street theatre performance by Creation Theatre; and don’t miss Rough Magic Theatre at Westgate bringing the Jabberwock to life with shadow puppetry and live singing. While you’re there, pop into Snowflake Gelato for their exclusive Alice’s Day flavour 🍦
✨Museum of Oxford: Get hands-on with history in a special Alice’s Day edition, exploring objects linked to Alice’s story and her connection to Oxford.
✨Christ Church: Try croquet in the Master’s Garden — one of the places that inspired Wonderland — and step inside the Dodgson Room for a magical Magic Lantern show.
✨At the Weston Library, enjoy Alice tales throughout the day with storyteller Lucy Walters and talks with Lewis Carroll Society;
✨At the Botanic Garden, take part in an Alice-themed trail and live performances; Alice’s Wonderland Adventures at History of Science Museum; visit Alice’s Shop for a family friendly adventure, and to meet author Susanna Johnston
