Plans are afoot to create a major new visitor attraction in Minehead as the town museum looks to double in size by relocating from the sea front to the former Citizen Advice centre.

The museum is open for the usual hours until the end of Sunday 1st November. So you have only one more week to enjoy it on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays , Saturdays and Sundays! Don’t miss the boat! However, the good news is that we will be open every Saturday. In November and December, from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm!

Families , if you’re looking for indoor activities this half term, remember we have a range of quizzes for children!

Normal opening continues to the end of October as usual. But this winter, we will be open on Saturdays only until just before Christmas!

Minehead St Michael's was recently floodlit in blue and orange, Minehead lifeboat colours, in honour of Kevin Escott, lifelong volunteer with Minehead RNLI. Kevin, who died earlier this month, was also a good friend to Minehead Museum and always willing to share his knowledge and large collection of photos.

Thanks to Ron Blundell for this evocative photo of the Quay. Does anyone know anything about the yellow house behind the cottages? Only the wall remains today.
