🧙‍♂️✨ BREE & ELLIOTT EXPLORE… HOGWARTS! ✨🧱

Bree and Elliott’s tour of Brickz Museum has taken a rather magical turn… because they’ve arrived at Hogwarts Castle! 🏰⚡

And they certainly picked an impressive exhibit to explore!

This incredible microscale recreation of Hogwarts contains approximately 30,000 LEGO bricks and took around 200 hours to build. 🤯

Originally based on a non-LEGO design, the castle was completely rebuilt using genuine LEGO bricks, capturing the magical school in miniature — from the towering castle and Great Hall to the viaduct, boathouse, courtyards, greenhouses and surrounding landscape.

🔎 Elliott has his camera out again, while Bree seems to be taking in the view. With this much detail, can you really blame them?

LEGO and Harry Potter first joined forces in 2001, alongside the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and the Wizarding World has been part of LEGO history ever since.

A huge amount of work went into creating this particular display, with Douglas Kelly and Jason Joiner bringing this magical corner of Brickz Museum to life. 🧱❤️

🧱⚙️ BREE & ELLIOTT EXPLORE… LEGO TECHNIC! ⚙️🧱

Bree and Elliott are continuing their tour around Brickz Museum, and this time they’ve discovered an area where LEGO isn’t just about building something that looks impressive… it’s about making it MOVE! 🤩

Welcome to the world of LEGO Technic!

Introduced in 1977, Technic took LEGO building in a completely different direction, using gears, axles, pins, beams and eventually motors and pneumatic systems to create models with working mechanical functions.

🚜 Steering that actually turns
⚙️ Gears that work together
🏗️ Cranes and excavators that move
🔧 Mechanisms you can see in action

Elliott has already got his eye on those enormous wheels, while Bree appears to be making sure he doesn’t get TOO close… 😂

From the earlier models to the increasingly complex machines that followed, this part of the museum is a brilliant reminder of just how much LEGO building has evolved over the decades.

And with so many different vehicles and mechanisms to investigate, we have a feeling Bree and Elliott might be here for a while! 🔎

🧱🌊 COME AND EXPLORE THE AQUAZONE! 🌊🧱

We’ve got two new little tour guides ready to help us explore some of the incredible displays here at Brickz Museum…

👋 Meet Bree and Elliott!

Over the coming weeks, Bree and Elliott will show us around some of our exhibits, point out interesting details, share their favourites, and hopefully discover a few surprises along the way! 👀🧱

And where better to start than beneath the surface in THE AQUAZONE? 🌊

This incredible underwater world contains approximately 20,000 bricks and took around 250 hours to build! But look beyond the bricks, and you’ll discover something particularly unusual…

🌸 More than 800 flowers were individually designed, built and installed by Sabrina Kelly to bring this underwater landscape to life.

And there’s a fantastic bit of film and television history hidden in the display too! 🎬

The rock formation was originally created for the film industry and was used as part of the Reichenbach Falls scene in the BBC television series Sherlock — before finding a very different home here at Brickz! 🤯

The main builders behind the exhibit are Jason Joiner and Sabrina Kelly, and there are SO many little details to discover.

It looks like Bree and Elliott have quite a bit of exploring to do! 🔎

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on someone without whom there simply wouldn’t be a Brickz Museum…

Meet Jason Joiner! 👋

Jason has been collecting LEGO since he was just seven years old, and that childhood passion has grown into the incredible collection you can explore at Brickz Museum today.

Over the years, Jason has travelled around the world searching for rare, unusual and nostalgic LEGO sets, helping to build a collection that celebrates the history of those little plastic bricks we all know and love. 🌍🧱

And the building certainly hasn’t stopped now that the museum is open!

Behind the scenes, you can almost always find Jason with LEGO in his hands, working on something new. Whether he’s creating a new build, adding to an existing display or coming up with his next idea, there’s usually another project underway! 👀🔨

For Jason, Brickz is also about bringing back those childhood memories and giving others the opportunity to experience them too.

As Jason explains:

“There’s nowhere in Britain you can actually see all the LEGO kits we had as kids.”

“I’m regaining my childhood and I wanted to share it.”

That passion ultimately led Jason to open Brickz Museum in Milton Keynes in April 2025—turning a lifelong love of LEGO into somewhere generations of fellow builders and fans can enjoy. ❤️

So today’s Builder Friday is really a big THANK YOU to Jason for being the reason Brickz Museum exists — and for continuing to build and create behind the scenes! 🙌🧱

We’ve been delving into LEGO history this week, so we thought we’d show you something a little different from the collection here at Brickz Museum! 👀

Long before the incredible plastic brick-built sets we know today, LEGO produced wooden toys — and our displays give you the chance to see pieces from those earlier chapters of the LEGO story.

Take a closer look at this photograph and you might also spot a familiar name spelled out using the vintage LEGO alphabet blocks… **JASON!** 👀

There’s a very good reason for that.

Jason is the man who decided to take his passion for LEGO and turn it into something much bigger, opening **Brickz Museum in April 2025**! 🧱❤️

So it seems only right that his name has found its way into a little piece of LEGO history inside the museum!

Did you know the LEGO story began more than 90 years ago? 🤯

It all started in Denmark in 1932, when carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen began making wooden toys in his workshop.

But LEGO didn’t stay wooden forever! 👀

The company later moved into plastic toys, eventually developing the interlocking brick system that would become recognised worldwide. 🌍🧱

From those early wooden creations to enormous brick-built cities, detailed models and millions of minifigures, it’s incredible to think how far the humble LEGO brick has come!

And here at Brickz Museum, we LOVE celebrating what you can create, one brick at a time. ❤️
