Join us to explore the philosophy, practice and learning behind MK Gallery's two-year Sensory Engagement Partnership with specialist practitioner Julia Simmons-Collar, developed alongside community partners.

Beyond making the case for sensory engagement, this event invites delegates to explore how it is reshaping interpretation, meaning-making and public engagement across the cultural sector, through active discussion and creative participation.

With specialist guest speakers, Producer and Curator Jennifer Gilbert Jennifer Lauren Gallery and artists from Blue Room inclusive arts studio Bluecoat Blue Room Inclusive Arts.

Lartigue was eager to experiment with any new photographic process he could get his hands on. As illustrated in the image of the fiery red nails of Florette and her glossy magazine (1961). The colour work constitutes more than the diaristic musings of a man in love.

Discouraged by the sluggishness of the autochrome process, Lartigue stopped photographing in colour in 1927. He resumed in 1949, after two world wars and the development of Ektachrome film.

Lartigue’s photographs exude an air of freedom and are seemingly composed with little effort, each frame spontaneously conveying the emotion of the moment.

He used his life as the inspiration for much of the subject matter of the images, often including his acquittances, wives and friends across time, enjoying leisure time.
