LYTHAM WINDMILL & LIFEBOAT MUSEUM - Lytham's best known landmarks, the Windmill and Old Lifeboat House, contain a seasonal museum with a series of exhibits focussed on the "History of Mills and Milling", "The History of the 1886 Great Lifeboat Disaster" and the "Heritage of Lytham St Annes and the Fylde Area".

🌬️⚓ Step back in time this summer at two of Lytham’s most iconic landmarks – the beautiful Lytham Windmill and the historic Old Lifeboat House!

📅 Open:
• Friday 12 June, Saturday 13 June & Sunday 14 June – 10:30am to 4:30pm
• Saturday 20 June & Sunday 21 June – 10:30am to 4:30pm

🎵 Please note: We will then be closed for three weeks during the Lytham Festival, reopening on Saturday 17 July.

After reopening, our summer opening times will be:
🌬️ Lytham Windmill – Wednesday to Sunday
⚓ Old Lifeboat House – Friday to Sunday

Lytham's fabulous Windmill and Lifeboat Museum is keen to recruit new volunteers to assist in its seasonal operation. We have a fantastic volunteer team and are looking for stewards to help staff the Windmill or the Old Lifeboat House. It's great fun, and if you love talking to members of the public about local history, do let us know.

Lytham's fabulous Windmill and Lifeboat Museum is keen to recruit new volunteers to assist in its seasonal operation. We have a fantastic volunteer team and are looking for stewards to help staff the Windmill or the Old Lifeboat House. It's great fun, and if you love talking to members of the public about local history, do let us know. Typically, it's just 2.5 hrs a week during the spring, summer and autumn months.
We are particularly keen to recruit volunteer stewards for the Lifeboat Museum (next to the Windmill) on Saturday afternoons from 1:30pm to 4:30pm and Sunday afternoons from 1:30pm to 4:30pm

Easter Season
• Wednesday 1 April to Sunday 12 April 2026
• Windmill - Wednesday to Sunday including Bank Holidays - 10.30am to 4.30pm
• Lifeboat House - Friday to Sunday including Bank Holidays - 10.30am to 4.30pm

Spring Season
• Saturday 18th April – Sunday 31 May 2026
• Weekend & Bank Holiday opening - 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Summer Season
• Wednesday 3 June to Sunday 6 September 2026.
• Windmill - Wednesday to Sunday including Bank Holidays - 10.30am to 4.30pm.
• Lifeboat House - Friday to Sunday including Bank Holidays - 10.30am to 4.30pm.
• Please note the site is CLOSED Wednesday 24 June to Friday 10 July 2026
