Looking Again marks a significant milestone in TongTong’s practice, presenting her first ever exhibition of paintings and her first solo show, as well as the inaugural exhibition at The Dot Project’s new Barnes space.

Bringing together oil paintings, drawings and a limited-edition print, the exhibition offers insight into TongTong’s process - from observation and research, through colour studies and experimentation, to the development of final compositions.

Born in Chengdu, China, and now based in London, TongTong explores the patterns, textures and overlooked details of everyday life, transforming subtle observations into carefully considered compositions that invite a slower, more reflective way of seeing.

Presented as part of Artsy Foundations 2026, the annual initiative dedicated to celebrating and supporting emerging and early-career artists, Hollywood Foreverland brings together a selection of paintings by David Matthew King that explore the space between memory, imagination, and lived experience.

Skeletons, ghosts, and human forms appear within luminous, layered landscapes, creating scenes that feel familiar yet slightly out of reach. The works don’t tell complete stories so much as offer fragments - moments suspended between presence, absence, and imagination. The figures carry a strange mix of humour, tenderness, and uncertainty. Looking outward with quiet intensity, they become both characters and reflections, inviting the viewer into a space where the personal and the surreal overlap.

Over recent years, King’s practice has moved increasingly towards the figurative, with Hollywood Foreverland exploring this direction more fully than ever before. Built through layers of abstraction, gesture, and colour, the figures slowly emerge from the surface, as if recalled rather than invented.

Memory plays a central role in King’s process. Working from sketches but painting from recollection, King allows images to shift and transform, embracing distortion and imperfection as part of the work itself. Hollywood Foreverland reflects the way memories, emotions, and imagined places evolve over time, becoming something new each time they are revisited. When you step inside a place that has stood for centuries, you become part of an ongoing conversation between past and present. Others have stood in this same light. Walked these same halls. Separated only by time.

That conversation forms the basis of the fifth edition of our Artist-in-Residence programme THE.DOT.PROJECT with HeritageX, which places contemporary artists within some of the UK’s most extraordinary heritage homes.

These houses carry the traces of every life that has shaped them. Art is one way we reach back. And one way we leave something behind.

This year begins at Eastnor Castle with Dominic McHenry. During his residency, Dominic developed A King Dies Standing, a new body of work shaped by the castle and its layered histories. Working between sculpture and painting, Dominic creates a visual language of geometry, repetition, and structure, where precision begins to loosen and order quietly gives way to something less certain.

For a brief moment, our artists become part of these places, contributing to a story that remains unfinished.

A King Dies Standing will be exhibited at Eastnor Castle throughout June.

Dominic McHenry’s residency at Eastnor Castle marks the start of our 2026 Artist-in-Residence program across some of the most inspiring heritage homes in the UK. .dot.project

Dominic is developing a new body of work in direct response to Eastnor castle’s historic rooms.

Working between sculpture and painting, McHenry builds a language of geometry, repetition, and structure, where precision is both tested and quietly unsettled.

His sculptural works hold a totemic presence, while his paintings, set within hand-crafted frames, extend these ideas into surface and edge, where order begins to shift under its own weight.

We’re sharing a first look at works in progress, made in situ at Eastnor.

These pieces are still forming , adjusted, reworked, and refined in dialogue with the architecture around them. The process remains visible: moments of construction, pause, and recalibration held within each work.

More to follow as the residency progresses. Works will be exhibited in June across Eastnor Castle - tickets available via
