In need of bespoke shelving? 📚

We loved collaborating with the to transform their old factory building into a vibrant and adaptable studio space. Using our modular, reusable U-Build system, we worked with the team to create distinct areas for the print studio, bindery, shop, and gallery, all designed to flow naturally and invite exploration. 📚✨

The flexibility of the U-Build system means their space isn’t just functional—it’s ready to evolve with their needs. It’s always rewarding to see how sustainable design can bring new life to old spaces while reducing waste and costs. 🌿♻️

Most office fit-outs are scrapped within just a few years—wasting materials, energy, and potential. What if we could rethink the whole approach?

At County Hall, London, our system showed that circular, sustainable office design is not only possible, but practical. Using modular plywood panels, we created adaptable partitions, phone booths, and furniture—all designed to evolve with tenants’ needs, leaving behind zero waste and no permanent impact on this historic landmark.

Once the heart of local politics, the fifth floor of County Hall is now alive with over 1,000 people working to combat climate change.

After two years based on the third floor, the entire fit-out was relocated and reimagined for ’ fast-growing climate-tech hub, now home to more than 120 start-ups.

“ is a low carbon home for climate tech businesses that showcases innovative materials and circular construction techniques within a historic building in London, winning an in the category. 🏆

Collaborating with organisations working on innovative building products and techniques was key.

Demountable partitions were developed by , mycelium acoustic baffles and food waste finishes produced by and low carbon plaster from .

The scheme dramatically reduced the amount of embodied carbon typically used for workspace fitout and points towards a new aesthetic and material language reflecting the demands of the climate emergency.

Submissions are open for the NLA Awards 2025, celebrating the people, places and projects shaping a better London. Aligned with the New London Agenda, we’re seeking submissions that contribute to a city of Equity, Sustainability and Prosperity.

We were really pleased when someone in New Zealand came across one of our cabins and got in touch.

Rather than sending parts across the world, we shared the drawings and CNC files, and he worked with a local workshop to build it himself.

It’s a small example of how design can be shared in a way that’s practical, sustainable, and collaborative. 🏡

✨We are pleased to share this U-Build garden studio, built by | 🌿

✨The garden studio showcases a minimalist, modern aesthetic with its dark exterior cladding contrasted by natural wood accents around the windows and door. The flat roof and clean lines contribute to its simple yet functional design. The green door adds a subtle pop of color, blending well with the surrounding greenery. The use of sustainable materials and modular construction techniques emphasizes eco-friendliness, while the structure fits harmoniously within the garden setting, creating a cozy and practical outdoor space.🌿
