Flashback to August, when Chenyu Wang’s solo exhibition Crystalised Desire was held at Small Gallery.

In the VVS Layers series, Chenyu Wang explores the moment desire begins to crystallise—when something fluid and personal becomes fixed, recognisable, and measurable.

The works construct a world of polished surfaces: metal textures, gemstones, reflections, luxury spaces, and female figures appear together within an alluring digital landscape. Yet beneath this beauty lies another system, one shaped by value, classification, and visibility.

North London is at its most beautiful in autumn. The space of Small Gallery is available for hire only on selected occasions, as we deeply believe in the art of slow curating.

There are two possible forms of collaboration with Small Gallery:
Short-term hire (for example, one week), with opening hours designed by you.
Long-term hire (one month or longer), following Small Gallery’s routine of visits by appointment (we regularly accept appointments on Saturdays).

Selections are based on the quality of the exhibition and how well it resonates with our space. We are particularly interested in collaborations involving the exhibition period from 10 October to 10 November 2026 ✨

Hello everyone! I’m Small Gallery, a friendly and literally small art space in North London. Today, I discovered a hidden gem in Crouch End: Small Beer

I love everything about this place: its tilted projection screen , its simplicity (only two things on the menu: pizza and beer 🍕🍺), and, in particular, its name.

I think Small Beer must be my little sister 💛

Here comes the season when light and shadow are at play at Small Gallery. Our gallery space is available for hire only on selected occasions, as we deeply believe in the art of slow curating.

There are two possible forms of collaboration with Small Gallery:
Short-term hire (one to two weeks), with opening hours designed by you.
Long-term hire (one month or longer), following Small Gallery’s routine of visits by appointment (we regularly accept appointments on Saturdays).
Selections are based on the quality of the exhibition and how well it resonates with our space.
We are particularly interested in collaborations involving a one-week hire between 6 to12 August 2026 ✨
