The Future of Knowledge returns to The British Library on Tuesday 10 November.

The Knowledge Quarter’s biggest event of the year brings the district’s institutions together for one day of cross-sector conversation. This year the conference will host up to five parallel streams from 9.30am to 5.00pm, from workshops and panel discussions, to a partner expo, with delegates free to move between streams and shape the day around their interests.

Within our one-mile radius around King’s Cross sits one of the densest concentrations of knowledge organisations anywhere in the world. For the past ten years, the Knowledge Quarter has united these organisations, and built the area’s reputation as Europe’s premier innovation district. This network is turning its concentration of knowledge into opportunity, and the Future of Knowledge is where that opportunity takes shape.

Researchers, cultural institutions, investors and technologists are often working on different sides of the same question. This is the day they explore it all under the same roof.

The Future of Knowledge is open to all, from members and partners to the general public. Tickets go live Tuesday 1 September at 9.00am.

On 15 July we launched Knowledge Quarter London: Leading Innovation, our strategy for the next five years.

At One Triton Square we set out how we’ll keep working with our members and partners: deepening collaboration across the partnership, making the case for long-term investment in the spaces and talent that let innovation take root here, and removing the barriers that stop people from every background taking part in that growth.

Thank you to our panellists Zoe Stern, Adam Habib, Sarah Elie MBE and Maja Maricevic, whose conversation made our approach clear. The strongest ideas come from building with communities, not around them, and no single institution holds the answers alone.

Our CEO Jodie Eastwood put it best: “The future is made here, and we intend to make it together.”

London’s built environment is being transformed - and the technology making it all possible is arriving faster than many realise.

From digital twin models to low-carbon material production, and smarter energy systems to large-scale retrofits of historic buildings, a new set of digital tools is changing what’s possible for the city’s infrastructure. The question is no longer whether London can adapt - it’s how.

But technology alone won’t shape the future of London - people do. As these tools become more powerful, the conversation about what drives these civic changes and who benefits from them matters more than ever.
