The induction furnace is now in the new shop!
Facilities almost ready!
Left the most important project until last 🤣. Reusing the screeding timbers to do the studwall for the toilet/restroom. Not all glamorous work!
Early start today, a lot still to do, but we stay focused and get things done!
Dust containment booth transformer! Initial thoughts are that it should accommodate all my dust making tools and machinery. Still need to seal up the windows and ceiling. Thinking about an adjustable curtain for the entrance, any thoughts!

Making a folding/portable grinding and dust containment booth! Hopefully, it will prevent the dust from going everywhere!
The 12T hydraulic press by massey is now in the new workshop! I was very lucky to be the first to get my hands on this amazing machine, and I've still not written a full review. In short, it's the bees knees👌🏽
A new dawn.

Interesting Sikh sword has come into the workshop today. I personally own over thirty Sikh swords with inscriptions alone, and I never get bored of seeing these swords as its always exciting reading the inscriptions!
Workshop Renovation Update
After a few weeks away sick, finally making some progress on the renovation. Besides clearing the yard and some cement rendering, we got all 3 furnaces in and will now make a start on plumbing them in. We still have electrical work to do, but we are now so close to finishing!
I've been trying to keep my expenditure down due to the renovation, but I saw this electric van and had to get it! At least the climate warriors will be pleased even if my accountant isn't 😄
Examining a bunch of Sikh swords, manuscripts, and relics such as this stunning carving of Maharaja Ranjit Singh - Sher-e-Panjab
How can you attempt to make new, unless you learn from the old!
RIP a legend of an actor and a passionate collector or arms & militaria
Recent restoration of a rare Uzbek knife. The scabbard was originally made for an Uzbek pesh kabz, so we had to carefully strip away the scabbard and convert the inner wooden core and foil work to accept a wider knife profile. Once putting the scabbard back together, we then had to replace around 20 turquoise stones on the scabbard throat collar as the setting cement had lost its strength. We also replaced some of the stones mounted on the knife bolsters, which also had the same problem. The scabbard was missing its ball chape, so we fashioned one using a similar metal alloy and set turquoise stones to match. We finally polished the blade and revealed a beautiful wide watering pattern.
A very rare and extremely well-made Vietamese/Chinese sword
Took some time out to spend some time with an inspirational and very good friend of mine, Bob Singh Dhillon. Very rare, do you meet people who are humble and so supportive. God bless 🙏🏽
We are making progress 🙏🏽
Shamshir, just come in with a well known inscription!

Restoring the edge of an Assadullah made Shamshir This Persian Shamshir from the 1700's was in incredibly poor condition, which we will show in another video, but here we are slowly improving its edge. DAY IN THE WORKSHOP #9 The collecting of Wootz or Damascus steel has really grown over the past 8 to 10 years. collectors are further demanding finer or rare quality blades like the popular (adjusted) watered steel pattern called laddered wootz and it's siblings! The thing that alot of people don't know is that this desired pattern was applied to the steel using mechanical methods, which we at Wootz Militaria have reproduced on occasion, I digress from the point of the post. Alot of collectors neglect blades in the condition shown in the video. The amazing thing is, over the years in our workshop we have restored many blades, probably well over 70, which were actually in worse condition than this sword and we revealed laddered or even more complex patterns. So the moral of the story is stop chasing perfect quality blades and try to train your eyes to detect patterns that are difficult for most humans eyes to see it could pay off! #wootz #steel #damascus #sword #dagger #watering #workshop #restoration #armsandarmour #knowledgeispower #tulwar #shamshir #saif #kilij #hancer #knife
