💚❤️ On Sunday we had the pleasure of being the venue for the fourth annual Ribble & Fishwick Joint Running Day... ❤️💚

📚 Interested in volunteering in our Archive?

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us care for, research and share the fascinating collections held in our museum archive.

There are lots of ways you could get involved, including:

📋 Cataloguing & records – organising documents, photographs and collection records
💻 Digitisation – scanning photographs, documents and film/video footage
📸 Photo & image work – preparing and quality-checking images for print orders
🔎 Research – researching the history, provenance and copyright of archive material
✍️ Writing & content – helping create articles, exhibition text and social media content
💬 Visitor & enquiry support – helping with archive enquiries and photograph orders
📁 Licensing & admin – supporting archive licensing and commercial requests

No previous experience is required – full training will be provided! 🙌

Whether you have an interest in history, photography, vehicles, research or simply want to learn something new, we'd love to hear from you.

🔔❗Just a little reminder that the Museum is OPEN TODAY (31st August 2026) for Bank Holiday Monday... ❗🔔

We are open until 4:30pm, with last admission at 3:45pm 😁

There are over 50 lovingly restored and preserved commercial vehicles in the Museum's collection, 6 of which visitors can board! Inlcuding a 1930s Merryweather fire engine and a Leyland Beadle coach 😍

We also have a lorry driving simulator where are younger visitors can try their hand at driving a lorry 🚛

And a selection of vintage Arcade games ✨ If you fancy a trip down memory lane, 'Old penny' tokens can be purchased from Reception 😁

📍The Museum is located on King Street in Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 2LE

Please note that The Leyland Heritage Cafe is not open today but members of the Museum team have laid on complimetary tea and coffee for visitors 🫖☕

The fourth annual Ribble & Fishwick Joint Running Day is now OPEN... We are joined by a variety of buses which operated within the Ribble & Fishwick companies 😍

📍The event is taking place over on King Street Car Park (opposite the Museum - our address is King Street, Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 2LE)

The Museum is also open until 4:30pm, why not bob in and say hello 👋 we'd love to see you!! In the Museum we have over 50 lovingly restored and preserved commercial vehicles including a Leyland Tiger Cub in the Ribble livery, an AEC Regent III and a Leyland Beadle!! ❤️

Please note that last admission is at 3:45pm 😁

The Museum is open all Bank Holiday weekend, including Bank Holiday Monday (31st August 2026)!! 😁

On Sunday 30th August the Ribble & Fishwick Joint Running Day returns for its fourth year!! ❤️💚 We will be joined by a variety of buses which spent their working lives operating within the Ribble & Fishwick companies 🚌
