Three years ago today Geoffrey Key joined us for the official opening of at our Heskin gallery.

Come and see Emma Gibbons' beautiful artwork up close.

Emma fills thousands of tiny hand-made “pill” capsules which contribute a jewel-like surface texture and vibrant pop-colour palette. Highlighting the hyper-materiality of pills and consumer-glamour materials, the work sits between whimsy and critique.

Another rare painting from the current ‘Pat White Collection’ sale ongoing

This artwork is entitled ‘Wigan Skyline’ and is illustrated in Stephen Eckersley’s book on the artist. Inspired by Piet Mondrian, a very small number of this style were painted in 1968, thought to be as few as three. This piece survives from the Pat White collection and two others were unearthed from the artists on own collection when they were removed from the bank vaults by his sister in law Molly Isherwood.

The first of the works from the late Pat White collection are starting to be posted on our website today so we start by showcasing with this incredibly rare Wigan street scene.

The Wigan scenes are always some of his most sought after and this example is particularly rare. Dating from the late 1950s, this wonderful depiction of School Street is painted on plywood and titled to the reverse in pencil.

A wonderfully rare early example of one of his best subject matters.
