Lowewood Museum

Lowewood Museum Lowewood Museum tells the history of the Borough of Broxbourne and the stories of those who lived and worked there. Admission Free all Welcome 🤗

The museum has six galleries to explore, covering a variety of topics and historical periods. From the earliest times to the present day the galleries at Lowewood explore local history through art, costume, social history and archaeology. Highlights on display include the impressive Four Swans from Waltham Cross, a fine collection of James Ward RA paintings and the story of the Pulhams of Broxbour

ne, one of the most important garden designers of the Victorian era. Hands on activities and trails are available throughout the museum to keep all ages entertained. We also run a programme of events and activities through the year.

The Greatest Showman is unable to attend our Circus Skills funday at Lowewood Museum tomorrow, Wednesday 26th August between 10.30 and 3.00pm. However, he has asked me to stand in for him as master of ceremonies. I will do my best as we welcome Splats Entertainment to the museum, so do come along and have a go at trying some circus skills, as well as enjoying the crafting activities.
This event has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund as part of the ‘Futureproofing Our Communities Heritage’ project.

Had a FANTASTIC day at lovely local Lowewood Museum for Stories Day! We had pop-up storytelling throughout the day about leopards, monkeys, cobblestones, buttons, wishes, naughty robbers (!!), wise women, flowers growing, yellow paint, a magic millstone, and the value of both the old and the new :)

Families also enjoyed craft activities, music and story writing today alongside free entry to this beautiful museum.

Thank you to my lovely attentive audiences, Lowewood staff & volunteers and especially Peter, Tony and Naomi :)

Keep your peepers PEELED as Lowewood Museum have LOADS of fab events, including a Circus Skills day coming up! :)
