🧩 Opening this Thursday – ‘Piecing it Together’ by Sally Purdy

Join us on Thursday 3 September, 5.30–7 pm for the Opening Night of Sally Purdy's new exhibition at Alchemist Gallery.

Sally's intricate mosaics bring together colour, pattern and texture, with inspiration drawn from the natural world.

For Sally, exhibiting here in Dingwall has a special significance:

“Having my own exhibition at this stage in life, and in the town I live in, is very special to me.”

And why not make an evening of it? Dingwall Art Group's annual exhibition also opens that evening, so there will be two opportunities to enjoy art in Dingwall.

A few of our favourite moments from our current exhibitions… 🎨

As ‘Catch the Breeze’ by Lynne Roberts and ‘Silting’ by Han Fraise continue at Alchemist Gallery, we thought we'd share a few highlights so far:

👑 A royal audience! Being able to showcase work from both exhibitions to The King was certainly memorable. He particularly liked the lines in Lynne's ‘Westerly Walk’, while Han's Cadets were very much ‘In Action’ on the day.

🪿 Unexpected combinations. We’ve loved seeing the Canada goose sculpture flying above paintings of our local Highland shores.

🎶 Something a little different. The interactive elements have been great fun, particularly the railway crossing phone box featuring the song written for the exhibition. And we were delighted to see a new artist achieve her first international sale with ‘Birder’.

❤️ And, of course, our customers. It’s always special when valued customers return to add another piece to their own unique art collections.

If you haven't visited the exhibitions yet, do pop in and have a look for yourself.

Come and see these shows quick before they are finished.

Men of Dingwall this weekend...

⚽ Running late for the Ross County match against East Kilbride, 🎣 fishing on the Firth, or taking a well-earned break from action. Boys will be boys!

Han Fraise captures little moments and characters from life in a Highland town.

With County playing East Kilbride this Saturday, we thought ‘Staggie’, a Ross County fan making his way to the game was particularly appropriate! You can see more of Han’s work at Alchemist Gallery. It's a late 5.30pm kick off on Saturday, so time to call in before the game.

🎨 Meet the Artist: Lynne Roberts 🎨

Join us on **Saturday 22 August from 11am–1pm** to meet Highland artist **Lynne Roberts**, whose exhibition *Catch the Breeze* is currently on display at Alchemist Gallery.

Originally from the Llŷn Peninsula in north Wales and now based in Lochcarron, Lynne draws inspiration from the coastal villages, boats, crofts and ever-changing colours of the Highlands. Her expressive paintings combine natural forms with man-made structures, creating works that are rich in texture, atmosphere and a strong sense of place.

This is a wonderful opportunity to chat with Lynne about her creative process, the landscapes that inspire her, and the stories behind her paintings.

🌊 Inspired by the beauty of the Highlands.

Lynne Roberts' exhibition, Catch the Breeze, captures the colours, textures and ever-changing light of Scotland's coastline.

Originally from the Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales and now based in Lochcarron, Lynne draws inspiration from the sea, skies and landscapes that surround her, creating atmospheric paintings that invite you to pause and take in the view.

Whether you're looking for a statement piece or simply love coastal art, her exhibition is well worth a visit.

🖼️ Catch the Breeze is on display at Alchemist Gallery throughout August.
