Dawlish Museum

Dawlish Museum We have 11 rooms over 3 floors packed with artefacts and more.

Dawlish Museum is housed in The Knowle, which was built in the early 1800's as a gentleman's residence and the museum came here in 1969 eventually taking over the whole building. Home to the famous D-Day bagpipes of Piper Bill Millin Dawlish Museum has 11 rooms over 3 floors bursting with local artifacts and fascinating facts about the towns history. There is a special room dedicated to the horren

dous storm of early February 2014 which left the railway line hanging in mid-air and the rail network cut off from the rest of the UK. Using archive photographs and video it tells not only the story of the storm and the unbelievable damage caused to the railway infrastructure but also the herculean efforts made by Network Rail engineers to re-open the line.

🎭 Dawlish Celebrates Carnival is just around the corner, and we're looking for volunteers to join our fantastic team!
Come along to our Volunteer Evening on 22nd June at 6:30pm at the Methodist Hall, Brunswick Place, for a cuppa, a chat, and the chance to meet the team and find out how you can get involved.
Whether you can spare a couple of hours, a day, or the whole week, every bit of help makes a difference and is really appreciated.
Our volunteers are the backbone of Dawlish Celebrates Carnival, helping to make the event a success year after year. We'd love to welcome you on board and show you how you can be part of this year's celebrations!
